Bowling team brings in $7 million to WSU?

The Economic Impact Report showed revenue of $6.74 million from 2014-15 season, which resulted in a national championship for the men’s team.
The report showed a $200,000 increase from the previous year.

That's a rather mind-boggling number for such a low profile sport. I would be very curious to see the actual numbers. It just doesn't seem possible.

Ah, so $4 million of that is the nebulous "advertising value", and $1.4 million is to the city of Wichita. Only $1.4 million is real dollars to WSU. Now it makes sense.

If you want to look at things that way, then the basketball program "brought in" billions and billions of dollars to Wichita and the university.
