Tin immediately broke back to force a tie-breaker, which he won. So he leads 1 set to 0.

Tin next opponent is #37 Felipe Soares (Texas Tech) who defeated #11 Brayden Schnur (North Carolina). Brayden Schnur was up 3-2 in the first set when he had to quit due to an ankle injury.

Ostojic's win is the first NCAA tournament singles win for a Shocker in 33 years.

That is very cool. Congratulations to him!

Most of the Shocker sports teams have been not-so-quietly improving their programs year after year from league to regional to national players. So much fun.

The Tin-Man of Ahs strikes again. And we get him back next year. Would love see him advance to the Sweet 16. He has a great opportunity with #37 getting an injury walkover win over the #11 ranked player.

Tin and Tomislav Gregurovic also open doubles play tomorrow so hopefully Tin will get adequate rest between his singles and doubles matches. Times have not yet been announced.

Not quite sure how they figured 33 years.

If Ostojic can reach the Round of 16, he would become the first WSU men's tennis player to earn All-American honors since Roberto Saad, a quarterfinalist in 1983.
I calculate that at 32 years. Not quite the 49-years between Final Fours but still a very big accomplishment for the Tin-Man.
