Had a job in Cincinnati so decided to take in the first round of the Web.com finals in Columbus by driving an additional 1.5 hours North to Columbus. Got to the Ohio State University "Scarlet" Course at 7:45. Saw Ryan and his caddie "Mike" (former WSU bowler) and off we went @8:08 AM Eastern. Ryan had a routine par on #10 (started on the back nine) and then uncharacteristically pulled his drive on the par 4 #11 in to the fairway bunker. Side note, Ryan leads the Web.com tour in driving accuracy. Ryan had to wedge out of the newly redesigned "Jack Nicklaus" bunkers to about 50 yards short of the green. Ryan told me later that he had a bad lie and bladed his approach over the green. He then missed a five footer and carded a "double". Not the best start, thought Ryan & caddie Mike might want me to start driving back to the ICT after two holes. The rest of the front nine was uneventful until Ryan bogeyed a short par four with a poor approach/bad chip/missed put on 16. He then followed up with a bounce back birdie on the 221 yard par 3 #17 that should have been an "ace" by tapping in a 3 inch putt. Ryan carded an uninspiring two over on his first nine holes.
Back nine..., routine par on #1 (started on back nine). Bad drive, approach was 5 ft over the green, mediocre chip and then missed the 6 foot putt on the par four #2 for bogie. He then started a string of 4 straight birdies followed up with 3 pars to card a 3 under back nine. Both caddie and golfer felt pretty good about the 1 under round after a bad start. This Shocker team is currently tied for 14th.

Not a great day for Ryan by any means, +1 for the day. However, it was a tough day overall. His -1 score gave him a T9 in the Nat ion wide Children's Hospital Championship in Columbus, Ohio. A solid tourney next week in Florida could earn him an opportunity to play PGA tourneys next year.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

[QUOTE=ShockMe300;592120]I see two different standings. One where Ryan finishes at number 21 and the other where he's not in the Top 25. I'm so confused.[/Quote
It is confusing. How it works is that the top 25 from the regular season are excluded from the top 25 from the 4 tournament finals.
This link shows the list without the regular season top 25.

As Signman said, the top 25 on the Web.com money list automatically get their PGA card for next year. Ryan finished in the 30's and thus did not earn his card that way. They are now playing the Web.com "Finals". That consists of 4 tournaments and includes all the Web.com players PLUS the players from the PGA tour that finished outside the top 125. Ryan is basically competing against guys like Lucas Glover, Tim Herron and Stuart Appleby who are trying to stay on the big tour. Fifty positions on the Big Boy tour are up for grabs. Twenty-five have already been grabbed by the top 25 Web.com guys as previously mentioned. That leaves 25 positions left to be earned. Right now Ryan is on the inside at 21. This could be his signature moment.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

I think Ryan will have to get a top 30 finish next week to earn a PGA tour card. He might get in with a top 40 finish but it would be iffy. Last year #25 was at $36,311.66 and #26 was at $36,280.00.
