Well the Shocks were able to move up from 10th place to 8th place today with by far their best team round of the tournament scoring a 7-over par 287.

Freshman Gage Ihrig, out of Goodland, KS, shot the best round of his young college carreer overcoming a double-bogey on the 10th hole to shoot a 1-under 69.

Grant Bennett had his best round of the tournament at 2-over 72 and Alec Heinen and Louis Cohen Boyer chipped in with 3-over 73's.

Jacob Bishop, despite carding 2 double bogeys, shot a 5-over 75 and had the throw away score.

Redshirt Fr Conrad Walcher, after posting an 83 and a 91 yesterday, shot a 74 today. So our 6 golfers averaged 72.7 today. That will be competitive in a lot of tournaments.

Seems like we have some good young talent this year that just needs to develop some consistency.

This Shocker team won't scare anyone with their physical presence. Alex Heinen is 6-4. However, that is in stark contrast to Louis C-B, Grant and Jacob we are all listed at 5-7. From the team picture though Jacob looks like he might be at least 5-8.

I don't know if those measurements are with or without golf cleats.

The Shocker men with one of their better rounds of the Fall season with a 7-over 295 lead the Bill Ross Intercollegiate in Overland Park. Due to the weather they only played one round today and will finish up with one round tomorrow. Perhaps the soft greens were to the Shocks liking but if it was as windy in Overland Park as it was in Wichita today it would not have been all that pleasant.

Other Valley teams in this tournament are MSU (9th place at +23), Drake (T-12th at +26) and Northern Iowa (T-12th at +26).

      Good luck tomorrow Shocks.

Looks like the Shocks are about to wrap up a win in the Bill Ross Intercollegiate which was shortened to 2 rounds due to the weather.

Shocker Sr. Louis C-B has a 1 shot lead in the medalist race with 3 holes to go.

It would have been nice have gotten a better #4 score today. Max Mason finished at 9-over and Jacob Bishop is at 8-over with 3 holes to play.

One European to replace another on Shocker Men's Golf team. The Shocker's only is Senior Louis Cohen Boyer from Paris, France. His place on next year's roster will be filled by fellow European Yannik Emmert from Buchholz Nordheide, Germany.

His bio looks pretty strong. Welcome to the USA and to Shocker Nation Yannik.
