No doubt that finish hurt the Shocks, an 11 point turn around in ISUb's favor....they are projecting the men's total at 157 to 156.5. Ouch.

Hopefully, Garret Lynch (6'11.75"), Dave Brandhoff (6'10.75"), Kerry Graber (6'10.75") and Zach Budda (6'8.75") are all on their games today. Good luck guys.
Brandhoff finished 2nd and Graber 3rd and 2 others finished 6th and 7th. You can't shine a flashlight between WSU and ISU right now, either men's or women's.

Shock finished 2nd (Brandhoff), 3rd (Graber), 6th (Lynch) and 7th (Budda) in the High Jump for 19 points.

A very nice showing but again they were hurt by Hunter Veith's absence plus Indiana State Sophomore DeSean Prentice, who had the 11th best jump coming in, tied for 4th to pick up an unexpected 4.5 points for Indiana State.

Certainly not as good as a day as yesterday for the men. ISU get's 2 to the finals in the 100 and WSU is shutout. Only Austin had a top 8 time, but freshman Rahim Thompson misses the finals by 4 ten thousands of a second. Tough break when every single point counts.

Seems like I've said this before, but ISU could have expected as many as 4 in the 110H finals and only get 3. Jonathan Duvall is the 1 expected Shocker in the final.

1 Tree and 2 Shocks make the 400 final, as expected. The Trees sneak a 2nd finalist into the 800 where WSU only has 1. Every point counts and that stings a bit.

Trees piling on as they get 4 instead of 3 into the 400H finals against the lone WSU entry. Another 1 bump for sure and even in a race that's mostly tactical and you stay in your own lane, WSU's freshman Jonathan Duvall would have been expected to win, and based on times that looks really doubtful now.

Sometimes it's hard to project a winner based on qualifying times. The only thing that counts in the prelims is qualifying the time isn't that important. Hopefully, that 's the case here.

They only showed the top 3 finishers in the men's steeplechase, so I don't know where the Shocks and Trees finished, but it wasn't the top 3.

EDIT It was however 4th for WSU freshman Ugis Jocis and a little bump for the Shocks as day 2 winds down. Awaiting mens long jump and womens high jump totals.

Ugis had the 5th best time going in and Indiana State's Taylor Head the 6th. Ugis came through with his 4th place finishe and Head finished out of the scoring at 9th so that will help a little.

How about Austin Bahner coming through with a win the the long jump (bad hammie and all).

                        That was impressive.

Shocker Freshman Ben Shaw kicked in 2 points with his 7th place finish.

Hunter Veith's absence hurt again though.

Men also did well in the 4X100 finishing 2nd and ISU finished 4th. Good start to the day.

Trees just went 1-2-6 in the men's 100 hurdles with Duvall finishing 8th. That stings to say the least.

That does sting. 3 in the top 8 was not totally unexpected by the Sycamores but not quite that strong and Jonathon certainly was being counted on to be close to or at the top of podium in this race.
