After weeks of improvement since the indoor meets, the hamstring pain arose again during a practice in early May.
“I’ve only had one meet where I went all out, and it went really well,” he said. “We’re trying to keep it as healthy as it can be right now and hope for the best at conference.”

Not what I was really wanting to hear. Sounds like the hammie is still really touch and go for Austin.

This was posted on WSU T&F's Facebook page ...

Attention Shocker T&F Fans! Just like we did indoor, we will be sending out text message scoring projection updates all weekend long for the MVC Outdoor Championships! Just send a message to 316-765-1168 if you would like to be added to the list. We will begin sending out messages Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You will receive around 50 messages in all during the three days. It’s also a great way to follow the meet if you are in attendance! Go Shocks!

You can also get lots of updates on Twitter on @WichitaSt_TFXC

Any word on the health of the team @goshox74:, especially Austin Bahner?

Seems like Bahner is ready to go. We'll find out pretty soon as the Decathlon 100m is the first event Friday morning!

              Decathlon just now starting.

You can tell that Coach Rainbolt loves him some multi-athletes.

The Shocks have 7 athletes participating in the Decathlon. INS, ILS, SIU, UNI and DU have 1 each. BU and LUC none.

The Shocker men are also looking to rack up some good scoring in the javelin which starts this evening at 6:00pm. 6 of the 13 throwers listed in the heat sheets are Shockers including Austin Bahner, Alex Freshour and John Nicholas who are also competing in the Decathlon.

I noticed the same thing. It is SIU, so you have to take that into consideration. :)

Not sure the cool whether is exactly what Austin's hammie needs. Generally, I would think T&F athletes would like cool whether as long as it's not windy, but it doesn't do much for getting and keeping those muscles loose.

@RoyalShock: I assume you picked that up off of a Tweet or FaceBook because the live stats have nothing.

Could be SIU defines live stats as ones where the person who posts them is alive even if posted a week after the fact.

There is a live video feed, but alas, it's only for the hammer throw this afternoon, starting in about 10 minutes.
