    They are underway.

Chandler Rusk (+9 after 9) and Calvin Pearson (+10 after 10) with disastrous starts are killing us. Rusk beat out Tyler Gann in a 54-hole playoff for the 5th spot on the roster. We need at least one of those guys to settle down or we could effectively be out of the Tournament after 1 round.

Calvin shot a 46 on the back nine and Chanler a 45. I wonder when the last time they have done that?

"The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals."

As of now we are 9 strokes back from the top 5.

Rafael Becker is tied for the qualifying individual.
Louis Cohen Boyer is one stroke back
      Hunter Sparks is 2 back

Ok, this one will probably take some further research to figure out.

Alex Boasson of 23rd ranked Mississippi State shot a very solid one over 37 on the back 9. He started on #10.

On his 10th hole (#1 on the front) his scorecard shows the Double Bogey + symbol with an 'X' inside of it and his score went from +1 to +30.

I realize the scorecards aren't final until verified at the end of the round but there has to be story their if those numbers prove to be accurate.

Update: Now his scorecard has been changed to a birdie and he is +1 on the day instead of +31. And he replaces MSU's +9 player and MSU's team score drops from +24 to +16. I guess the story is either bad input or a software glitch.

I think that was some type of error. It has been updated now. My guess was that they couldn't read the score for that hole, but had the rest of the scores to input so they put some dummy score in until they could get the correct score. It now shows he got a birdie on that hole and is +1 for the day. I saw that for another player earlier also.

The back nine must be the tougher part of this course. 5th place Alabama has fallen to +9. WSU is sitting tied for 6th is sitting at +12, 3 strokes back.

Edit. Just looked it up. Looks like 6 of the 8 hardest holes (Average Score to par) are on the back 9.

Houston Baptist who is currently tied with the Shocks at +12 still has most of the tougher back 9 to negotiate.

Oops, the Shocks just went to +14 on bogeys by Rafael and Louis.

Shocks falling back a little now. Doulbe-bogey by Rafael pushes us to +16.

Hunter gives the Shocks a little boost with back-to-back birdies and gets hmiself back to even par.

Credit to both Calvin and Chandler for settling down on their final 9 holes (the front 9). They both shot +2.

Louis birdied his final hole to offset a bogey by Chandler and he finished his round at a very solid +2.

WSU is done for the day sitting at +16. 6 teams are battling for the 4th and 5th spots sitting in the +12 to +16 range.

Hunter is tied for 6th at an even 72. He is currently in position to move on individually if the shocks don't make it into the top 5.
Louis is tied for 13th at +2
Rafael is tied for 19th at +3.
Sitting 71st and 73rd are Chandler(+11) and Calvin(+12). If either of these two play like we know they can we have a great chance of getting into the the top 5 and moving on.

All-in-all the Shocks came out about as well as expected considering he tough starts for Calvin and Chandler.

Rafael even stumbled a little bit shooting a +3 on the easier front 9 after navigating the back 9 in even par.

                          Nice round by Hunter.

In any case, I think the Shocks have something left in the tank and may have left a few shots out on the course today.

Chandler Rusk (+2) and Calvin Pearson (+3) have competed the back 9 and improved their scores by a collective 14 strokes from round 1. It is really unfortunate that they both had a blowup in the same round.

Nevertheless, nice work to play decently on the back 9 today.
