#2 seeded Shocks will take on the #1 seed Drake Bulldogs in the MVC Tournament finals on Sunday.

The Shocks have not been able to get buy Drake the last couple of years but I think they have a shot this year.

We will see how it works out tomorrow.

Shocker men off to a good start against Drake taking both the #1 and #2 doubles by identical 8-5 scores to capture the doubles point. The Shocks were also leading in the #3 doubles 7-6 when they captured the point. During their regular season match Drake won the double point.

You're right @1972Shocker:, they do have a shot this year. Coach Louderback has steadily improved this program and they have a real shot at the Geese today.

A shot improved by the fact that they just secured the doubles point. A split of the singles will give them the title now.

I will say that WSU also won the doubles point when they met Drake earlier in the season, yet still lost 4-2.

However, our guys were sharper today. This could be a real battle to the end.

I stand corrected. We did win the doubles point during the regular season match. That match was also at the Coleman Tennis Center. Let's up we can turn around one of the single match results from the previous meeting.

A very promising start to the singles matches, in which the Shocks were up a break in at least 2 matches if not 3, has turned quickly and substantially in favor of Drake.

WSU is going to have to right the ship immediately to have a chance.

After starting his match 4-0, WSU #4 Eric Reyes dropped 6 games in a row to lose the first set. That's a crushing blow to their title hopes. It's a match they must have....I am afraid Drake will seize the opportunity and close out the Shocks without dropping a singles set.

If Tin Ostojic can somehow take the first set (tied at 4 right now) the Shocks will keep hope alive.

Guillermo Nicol took set 1 for the Shocks at the #6. Would like to see Tomislav Gregurovich to at least put up a fight and extend his match to give the others some hope.

Looks like the Shocks are going to need to win #3, #5 and #6 to take the title. Reyes goes up a break again in the 2nd for WSU.

Well some good news, some bad.

The Shocks are about to the lose the #1 and #2 matches in short order (no real surprise).

That means Drake needs just 2 of the remaining 4 singles to take the title.

But Tin Ostojic did in fact take the first set at #3 and then in a bit of surprise, Tomislav Gregurovich took the 2nd set at the #4 to even that match up.

Reyes remains up a break in the 2nd @ #5 but Nicol is down a break in the 2nd @ #6.

The noose is starting to close on the Shocks.

James Mckie d Ilija Cuic 6-1 6-1 to even the match at 1-1.

                    Drake leads at #1 6-2, 3-2.

At the #3 Tin Ostojic leads 6-4, 1-2 (down a break).

At the #4 we split the first 2 sets and are on serve at 2-1 in the 3rd.

At the #5 Eric Reyes has yet again given up a lead and now trails 4-6, 4-4.

At the #6 Guillermo Nicol has taken the 1st game of the 3rd set.

Mat has rallied to lead 5-3 in the #1 singles after droppinmg the 1st set 2-6. The match appears to be totally up in the air at this point.

                      Shocks are battling.

Looks like the #3, 4, 5 and 6 matches are all going to a 3rd set. And I spoke too early at the #1.

Matheus Pereira is about to force a 3rd set at the #1 match too.

Now it's 2-6, 5-5 in #1 singles and the Shocks are trailing in the #4 singles 3-6, 6-3, 4-5. We really need to pull one of those out of the fire.

Mat falls in the #1 singles 2-6, 7-5 but Tomislav Gregurovic rallies to win the #4 singles 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 and the match is even at 2-2. Way to go Tomi G!

                            Shocks still have a shot.

Drake in control in the #6 singels and the Shock's Erick Reyes in control in the #5 singles.

Looks like it may come down to the #3 singles match which is early in the 3rd set.
