Like the Lady Shocks the Shocker Men keglers qualified as the #1 seed. Unlike the Ladies they are off to a good starts as the squeezed by #16 Vincennes and #9 St. Ambrose by 4-3 scores before dumping #4 Robert Morris 4-0 which puts them in the semifinals as they await the survivor of the loser bracket which will be either Robert Morris, St. Ambrose or #5 Morehead State.

FWIW, this is the format they use in the team championships:

    Baker
    - The Baker tournament format is unique. Typically found in Collegiate tournaments, the Baker format comprises of a team of bowlers (usually 5), who rotate bowling in each frame in a game. This is much different than a normal team event in which each bowler will bowl for their own individual scores. In a Baker format a higher emphasis is put on bowling as a team as each shot is absolutely crucial to your team's success.

The teams bowled 24 games to determine seedings. Here are those scores: http://scores.bowl.com/2012-itc/2012_itc_round_1-24.pdf

Then they are seeded into two 8-team double elimination brackets where they play best 4 of 7 Baker games per match. The finals on Saturday, which are televised, are a best 2 of 3 Baker match.

BTW, #6 KU is still alive in the opposite bracket. They are in the loser's bracket and play #2 Lindenwood in Round 5 (starting at 1:30pm) for the right to face #11 Webber in the semi-finals. KU or Lindenwood will have to beat Webber twice to move into the Finals.

#9 St. Ambrose and #4 Robert Morris meet in the Shocks side of the bracket in Round 5 for the right to face the Shockers in the Semi-Finals. This winner of this match will have to beat the Shocks twice to get into the Finals.

A Shocker - Jayhawk final anyone?

Shocker men fell behind 1-2 but ralled for a 4-2 win to eliminate Robert Morris and move the Shocks into the Championship match on Saturday against Lindenwood or Webber. Lindenwood beat Webber to force a 2nd Semi-Final match to see who advances to play the Shocks.

Good luck, guys. Let's bring home another NC trophy.

In the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championship Shocker Geoff Young wins his semi-final match 242-192 only to follow that up with an even more dominating 245-191 win in the Championship game. Congratulations to USBC ISC National Champion Geoff Young of the Wichita State Shockers.

Let's hope Geoff can lead his teammates to a team championship tonight.

Shocks win Game 1 over Webber International 179-167 in the best of 3 championship final.

It was a see-saw affair. The Shocks were up by 19 pins after 5 frames following an open frame in the 5th by Webber. However, Webber followed that up with a turkey and the Shocks fouled on a one-pin spare shot in the 8th frame and Webber took a 10 pin lead. However, Webber had open frames in both the 9th and the 10th while the Shocks went strike, spare and strike to close out the game.

In Game 2 the Shocks had a big lead but Webber finished with a strike, a 9-count spare, and then 5 strikes to come back and tie the Shocks at 203.

I'm not sure how they handle that. My guess is they go to the 3rd game and if Webber wins they have some kind of a tiebreaker or roll-off or they play an extra game.

The Shocks are up by a slim 2 pins after 6 frames in Game 3. Let's hope the Shocks have the hot finish in them this game.

Update: Deadeven after 8 frames. This one is going down to the wire.

Update: Webber finishes the 9th and 10th frames 9-count spare, 9-count spare and strike for a 184.

Update: Shocks finish the 9th and 10th frames strike, strike, 9-count spare for a 194.

The Shocker men are agains USBC Intercollegiate Bowling Champs.

                          Way to go guys.

Edit: Nevermind, I think. Maybe. Possibly. Probably. Not sure.

You sure about those scores @1972Shocker? The ICT website you linked to above has Webber winning the first and the shocks being the ones with 5 straight strikes to tie in game 2.

According to the live scoring at http://scores.bowl.com/itc/ I think I reported it right. What page are you viewing?

Edit: I am not sure at all now. I was viewing a live scores. Then when I re-opened it the teams were reversed. So I guess the answer is no I have no idea which is correct.

I am looking at a window right now that shows it as I reported it. However, if I open a new window it shows exactly the opposite.

Not sure how that can happen.

At this point I have no idea who won.
