I saw more empty seats tonight than I can remember in the remodeled Koch arena. But given the conditions, it was a good crowd. But given the conditions it was still more than a lot of Valley schools would dream of drawing. It wasn't even $1 beer night!
OU Texas Tech were on TV last night in a game of 2 bad teams. It appeared there were more empty seats than OU fans in attendance.
Its fashionable around the Valley to root against WSU. I think it is because of the resources, environment & passion WSU fans offer. And we still aren't Omaha a-holes who boo an injured player.
Some fans are negative, I liken it to an inferiority complex. Others are overly optimistic. I'm probably both. WSU has supported the program through an ugly period that wasn't long ago. But we've had 2 staffs that many BcS schools would like to have. And WSU fans travel well.
There is a lot of championship expectations this year. After two bumps in the road it can still happen.
I think no apologies should be made for the expectations of this program. Let's just make them happen!

I take it you were just venting a little, and yes it was mild. We have a good program here, and I don't think apologies are ever needed for 'expectations'.

The loss to MOST was a bump in the road, the loss to UNI was salt in the wound. Just because we want to win a championship (and were preseason favorites to do so) doesn't mean it will happen. I am a realist, and I am not an eternal optimist all the time like some are.

This game tonight should send a 'serious' message to HCGM that he has work to do to get this team to execute right. We aren't quite halfway through conference (10 games remaining plus BB). Losing in our 'own' house is not acceptable under any terms, ever.

I noticed a trend tonight. The teams that prevent us from getting the ball in to our Post player (Durley mostly) take us out of our game. MOST and UNI, for the most part, did that. Drake did too, in the first half. Coach needs to solve that problem. I didn't notice Blair doing much tonight.
UNI always plays us tough, I don't care what kind of team they have.

I kind of felt like about half the team was really putting in the effort tonight, and like half were coasting. The team played enough together that they should be 'gelled', but their inconsistency indicates otherwise.

One more loss like tonight though, and everyone will start to talk about next year, and I am tired of waiting for us to get back to the Dance.
