What is better for us?

For Missouri State to slip up once or twice or more to give Wichita State a shot at the outright MVC title, or to see them go undefeated until WSU plays them in Springfield? The second scenario would assume that the Shox keep winning as well..

I guess the real question is, would you rather have the MSU loss at home look good, or win the outright MVC title? Would like to have some separation from the rest of the pack though, and despite my hate for the Bluejays part of me wanted CU to pull that out to put WSU in sole possession of 2nd place.

I would prefer a little separation between the top two schools and the rest of the pack. Therefore, I will be rooting for MSU next Wednesday. I want us to continue winning and revenge our loss in February. Then, top that off with a championship in STL.

Agreed, there needs to be some separation at the top. If we were usually a multiple bid league it probably wouldn't matter if it were a two or three team separation. However, this year I think it best that we and MSU go off by ourselves and sort this out. I think ISU will eventually fade but you can't ignore that they are 6-1.

We want to be in control of our own destiny, so we want to be at least tied with them going into Possum Hollar, MO (more accurately tied with whoever is in first, bare minimum). And as striper said -- just keep winning.

Well that would be a "bad loss" and could be a factor in keeping them out of the dance. But I personally would rather be in the driver seat than worry about them, so I will take any one loss that MSU will give us right now. :)

I think the very best case scenrerio for WSU and the Valley would be for WSU and MSU to tie for first with 17-1 records. That would maximum both of our rpis and our wins over each other would look better.

I think that scenerio will be hard to pull off but it is possible. If that doesn't happen then I think it would be better for WSU to be the outright champs.

What is best for us? To take all guess work out it and to not be dependant on folk who have snubbed us before, we need to seize our own destiny. The best way to do that is to win the Lou and it is sure our turn by now. Otherwise, we better win the Valley and take at least 2nd at the Lou. Even then, I would feel somewhat queasy at the mercy of others. Winning the Valley and the Lou is still a 'long shot dream,' but possible. I truly think we are better than Mo State, but that is unfounded until proven between the lines. The best team does not always win.
