The coach did a good job of substitution. TM played 16 min while JR and DW both played 18. And they both played better than TM IMHO.
On the drake fan site there was one guy complaining that Rice only played 30 minutes and the coach should have kept him on the floor. Funny stuff. What do the rest of you think about their coach and his seeming (by drake fans) lack of coaching abililty?

It depends on how effective the player is when he is on the floor. Maybe Rice was the best player in the game, and he was effective most of the time on the floor.
On our side, AE played 28 min (most minutes) and he was good out there, so I have no problem if the coach let him play more. :)

      • Had a function to attend in Wichita, so we watched the game at SP. Football was on the big screen, the place was loud. I could not hear Bruce and Craig. I found that refreshing.

        • I am not sure if it is good or bad, but Aaron Ellis is the man I feel most comfortable with right now shooting the rock. He has that mid range jumper down pat; I am surprised when he misses that shot. And even last night he showed more range. Last year some may say he was a liability on the offensive end. This season he is irreplacable.

          • The beauty of this years team is depth, which doesn't lend itself to one or two statistical stars. We have had six different players lead us in scoring and eight in rebounding over the course of 18 games. That has to be a nightmare for opposing scouting reports. Who do you focus on? Who's on first???

Remember two seasons ago when persons on this board were complaining that AE was making shots with his foot on the 3-pt line and hoped he'd move back 10 inches or so? I'm very happy to have him 2-3 feet inside the arc.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:

The problem with Drake's team is that they only have 3 legitimate players: Wedel, Van Deest and Rice. They have no depth at all and can't even suit up 5 good players. Nobody can play a full 40 minutes a game and be expected to compete at the end of the season.

Yea I was on there, and they are losing it because Mark Phelps said that their rebounding was pretty solid, all the while getting out rebounded 45-20. I guess i cant blame them for melting down after that comment.

Interesting. Demetric IS coming around, it seems.

The problem with that argument is that they have had the top ranked recruiting class in the Valley each of the last two years. In theory, the guys they have on the roster have talent, but Phelps has done nothing to show that he can develop that talent.

Drake fans are rightly frustrated that Phelps first claimed that he couldn't win with the type of players he inherited (which had just won a Valley title) and now can't win with two of his own top ranked recruiting classes.
