  • Please No Let Down!

I'm thinking the fans are more euphoric than the players are about last night's win, so this is probably not a worry but I'll get it out there anyway:

PLEASE basketball gods -- NO LET DOWN Saturday!

I really liked the new primary lineup -- I even think Williams deserves the start over Rags at this point, but PG by committee is fine. They both offer a different dimension and swapping them out really seems to wear out teams that aren't very deep toward the end of the game.

Seeing JRags and DWill get to focus on the point and letting Toure find his natural game shows the Shox are finally getting it figured out. Thinking it will take Toure a game or two to really excel, because he has to learn how JRags and DWill run the point.

I think the only problem with DWill currently is that he had some issues early and unfortunately got on 3G's short list. Hopefully coach will let him breath a little and loosen up so he has some room to get cranking -- which we all know he can (and is already starting to show it again).

Maybe it took that really hard-to-stomach loss at MSU to figure it out, but it seems like things at the PG are starting to crystallize finally.

Let's hope so. The last couple of minutes of the MSU gave were hard to swallow watching Toure blow it, but TM has done far more good than bad at the PG position holding the fort while DWILL and Rags caught up.

TM gets all the slack that he needs. He's put TEAM first all year. Shocker Nation has his back.

The issues with PG haven't disappeared yet just because things went okay with Creighton. We thought they were solved before, and then we played the MSU game, and the game was here not at MSU.

When we bring a good consistent effort to every game for 40 minutes will most of our team's issues be at rest, and that includes the PG knowing what he is to do in every game, and executing it.

Agree, there is a ways to go to get the PG position cranking the way it could. Fortunately TM bought us some time for the early stretch and now the coaching staff can focus on teaching two players their system instead of three.

Yeah, most of us thought we would be "good enough" to handle MSU. With 3 PGs rotating in and out we would be kidding ourselves to say it was "solved".

Yup, what's crystallizing is 'who' is gonna play PG, now the coaches can focus more on 'how'.

If Toure would use his size and length with the committment that Ragland uses his speed driving to the basket, we would be much better off. Until Toure drives it with a purpose, he never be the player I thought he would be by now.

None of the three are terrible, none of the three are great. All have their strengths and weaknesses. It's it time for the players and coaches to recognize and accept what those are and play accordingly. Nobody needs to make huge changes, they just need to tighten things up. This is going to be a mix and match situation the rest of the year. I think it will work just fine as long as time, situation and the competition at hand are taken into consideration.

I think Rags and DWill both have the potential to be great. I don't think Murry will ever be a 'great' point guard. I think he can be great at the 2 or 3. If we are going to reach our full potential, we need to stick with and develop Ragland and Williams.
