  • The World Will Turn Tomorrow

Tough game. 100 reasons we lost. 100 ways we could have won. The season is not over. Anyone think we can't beat MoSt on their floor? Anyone think MoSt can't lose to Evansville on a off night? This valley championship is still in our control. We get a shot at Creighton on the twelftth. I'll be watching.

Those of you that like to go play the jackass on MVCFans might want to kee a low profile for a day or two though.

MSU can choke away games. I don't like our chances going into Omaha on Wednesday after this one. Then we'll magically be 2 (really 3) games out.

I sure hope this isn't a turn towards the downward.

      ... No really, deuces.

Maybe so tomorrow Bad--but we have 35 minutes to exclaim--"The sky is falling, the sky is falling. This loss will be a slow burn. When we visit Creighton, we will soon know how the world will turn in all the days of our Shocker life.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Agreed. Bring it in Omaha and we're back in the mix, pick up a second loss with a home loss already under our belts and we're in a pickle. I think only the most optimistic poster thought we'd run the table. We lost one at home and I think many of us thought we'd hold serve. We're going to have to pick up one or two that we didn't plan on. I know Creighton's down, but we haven't won up there since I can't remember. Pick up a W at the Quiet center and we're rolling. Drop a deuce in the pool up there and we can check back in at tournament time as the rest is just practice.

As Royal mentioned in another thread, overachieving has not been a hallmark of this squad.

It's tomorrow here and sure enough it is still turning. We hopefully played our bad game. Lots of good ball ahead.

It's now tomorrow in Kansas too, but it still doesn't feel very good. I am sure it would be turning much better if WSU had won last night.

Another season where we can win games against the cupcakes but can't win against teams on par with us. Typical.

The only bright spot is that this loss is not a bad one. However, we just blew another chance to get another quality win.

It is St. Louis or bust, and if you think otherwise, you are smokin' crack. NCAA Tourney Committee will look at our schedule and say what have these guys done to burst the bubble they're in?

Yet another unspectacular resume' and once again we have placed our fate in the hands of the "experts" who have anti-mid-major bias anyway. Nice choke job at home fellas, way to protect our house and reward some of the best fans in the nation. I will give credit to MSU however, we did not beat ourselves, MSU had a lot to do with us not making field goals. That's how first place teams are supposed to play. And lastly, thanks for getting off to a great start once again.

It's all about how you respond, you guys act as if a loss is bad thing: IT ISN't. It's how you respond that shows the character of your team.

A loss is not necessarily a bad thing. Choking away a game is a bad thing.

BS! There is absolutely nothing good about a loss. It matters not whether it is to a team supposedly much better than you, one equal to you, or one not as good as you.

A loss is a loss is a loss, no matter how you spin it or alibi it. And this year we are continually losing the important games, ones that could have boosted this team to another level.

Yeah, tomorrow will look a little brighter and the day after even better.

But, for today, there is no joy in my Mudville.

I don't necessarily think we choked the game away. I think we played terrible basketball with a flurry of good defense at the end that allowed us to get in a position to win. The problem is that our offensive game was lousy all night and the trend continued when we were put in a position to pull off the upset.

Moving forward, we need to sweep the remaining games to have a chance for an at-large. This is such a low probability chance, especially if lineup changes aren't made pronto. We need to have our team at our best come St. Louis and win that tournament. Hopefully the coaching staff is willing to take the risk.

This loss sucked - pure and simple.

It was on the 'U' and a statement game for the league and the 'watchers' such as Bilas and the like.

True, how they bounce back is critical.

It reminds one of Feinsteins "Season on the Brink."

If they go on the road and clock CU & DU, things will be fine.

Lose one or both and Fastbow's premature ejaculation regarding NIT-bound may prove to be rather accurate. 8)

The question will be their mental state. Can go either way. This is another good thing about depth. If you come out with your head down and your tail between your legs, that other guy is going to take your place. I don't believe all 10/11 guys are going to hang their head. I still believe they have a reasonable chance for the dance even if we don't suceed in St. L. Depends on how WE go forward.
