Although, Gottlieb thinks we'll have no problem against the Bears. I think that's a bit of an overstatement.
Wow, the best fans in the country. That is cool to hear said on national radio. :yahoo:
I'm sure Marshall will have this audio archived for future reference… especially recruiting.

    :good: :good:

I like it... I like it a lot!

I know, I know....I know the fans here are the good ones....I just wanted to vent.

I walked into the Drake game later than I ever get to a game (had to wait on the Anthem) and for the first time in 4 seasons, I felt like the game mattered....there was excitement in the air.

Of course that disappeared once the music started. :-x

+1000 -- the music before introductions absolutely kills the spirit in the arena. It's really sad actually.
You guys are so correct... it sucks big time. I absolutely hate it and I'm glad to hear others feel the same way. Thought maybe it was the "old fart' syndrome.

      :banghead: x 1000

Bad music all around. And who is the joker that is running the music. He plays it just as we are coming out of a time out and going to the free throw line. So the fans just start getting into it and the music dies because he has to shut it off for the free throw. Does this guy know anything about basketball and when to try to get the crowd reved up. It's certainly not just before a free throw for the home team.

And as to Sunday, the only thing that might keep some away would be the weather. Let's hope the storm misses.

Truthfully the atmosphere will be just as good if not better should the storm hit. Most of the "die-hards" that make up the great atmosphere are crazy enough to make the drive to Koch arena regardless. Obviously I know that some of us "die-hards" that live out of town or something wisely wouldn't make the trip should the storm hit. However, the vast majority would be there and they would be rowdy.

Considering the age group of a good number of fans in Koch, they need to be playing Elvis and Frank Sinatra to get the crowd pumped.

I agree with the comments about the music leading up to the starting lineup intro. The crowd was actually trying to clap and cheer, but the music made it impossible. A few that kept clapping got into the only possible rhythm, which was way slow compared to the pace people were clapping before the music started.

I couldn't imagine a better way to take the crowd out of their enthusiasm before a game than put on some music with very little "beat", no real punch, and no excitement.
