If Toure' does not hang on the rim for that quick moment, it appeared he would have possibly busted his buster or fell on his back. Thus, if the ref feels the urgency to ring him up for the T, then so be it.

Hard to say. May just have been upset with his team more than with 3G
I don't see how he could complain about 3G running up the score. He pulled his starters with about 6 minutes left in the game and then inserted the end of the bench with about 3:30 left in the game.

I thought the threes were coming pretty quick at the end of the game. Of course, if walk-ons are lighting you up then you have bigger fish to fry then worrry about a team embarrassing you, you are embarrassing yourself. Marshall isn't looking for the Royce Waltman or Barry Hinson award of most liked coach in the Valley. He's looking for the Tubby Smith or Bruce Weber award of winning at every level.

Sorry, if I'm up by 25+, I've inserted my 10-14 players on the depth chart (including a couple of walk-ons), and you still have your starters in the game with 3:30 to go, the last thing I'm going to do is to tell my players to back off and not shoot wide open 3s.

Who in the h-e-l-l is going to tell Tyler Richardson to go out there and not try? Not I.

Who is going to tell the walk-ons who bust their butts in practice to go out there and not try to measure themselves against other D1 players? Not I.

If they can't stop it, that's their problem.

In fairness, I don't think that's why Marty was upset. The game got away from them, and his kids quit hustling on defense....and that's not going to fly with Coach Simmons.

To say nothing of the fact that if UE doesn't play at 100% effort for 40 minutes, then they are in real trouble.

Coach Simmons was pretty upset with one of his players and was in his grill pretty good right after the final buzzer and right before he went to shake hands with 3G. My guess is that he was mostly upset with his own team, more than anything 3G or the Shocks did.
