One time a year is more than enough. Koch is home and always will be.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

Are you saying you think that we will be matched up with them again next year?

      I have my doubts.

I don't appreciate having crappy seats forced on me as part of my Shocker package. I never agreed to that. That being said, if this becomes a seperate ticket, I probably would not buy one. I absolutely would not pay money for the seats I had last night.

If you made 14,000 seats available, and the season ticketholders knew what their one and only seating option was, prior to purchase, you sell maybe 12k last night.

We will know soon. Match ups are to be announced in about one month.

But if it were off the season ticket package and all seats except student section and IBA all-event reserves were available, I'd be willing to bet most of us would end up happier with our seats. Or at least know we were a bit more personally in control of them. As I mentioned elsewhere, if they do this again it should not be a part of the season ticket package, but give season ticket holders a one week long advance window to buy the best seats.

That's the best idea I've heard so far regarding fixing of the seats. There is a big concern in my mind that losing the huge game would upset season ticket holders (myself included), but a one week advance window would provide incentive to having your SASO membership. Do this, and maybe try to get IBA to open up a few of those reserved sections (the IBA season pass holder areas), and we've got a good thing going.

As far as fixing the scoreboard, the one in Greensboro what would have been the video feed portion to display player stats, and do away with the live feed. Of course, this means we need to fix some line of sight issues in the student section (based on previous comments). Or maybe flash up a graphic with a players stats whenever they score or collect a foul.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

As far as stats, I noticed they had the score and time in the four "corners" of the ribbon board. How about put the score and time on one corner and some form of stats on the other? You would have to have score/time and stats "kitty-cornered" from one another in order to ensure most people could see both from their vantage point, though it likely wouldn't solve it for everyone. It would at least be a start.

Sorry, but the appeal is more than just the arena....so it's not just going to 'wear off'
CKA is sold out, which means that there are 9500 people who have decided to commit to buying tickets for every shocker home game. A game against South Hampton Institute of Technology may not draw well, but a good solid non-con opponent will certainly draw in more people beyond the season ticket holders.

My point is that many of the season ticketholders will not return if they have rafter seats.

The good thing is that we are not locked into anything with IBA. If over time, Shocker fans won't support the team at IBA then they probably will not play their.

However, if we get K-State or KU to come to Wichita to play we will probably be playing at IBA and the joint no doubt will be full.

Where's the option for 'Let's be a #1 Regional Seed in the NCAA Tournament so we can play a couple of games there in March.'?

And BTW, KU and K-State will never agree to a game at IBA. After all, as they have said, they don't recruit in Wichita.
Can we hold them to that statement, starting yesterday?
