  • Loudest Games ever ??

I tried to find the thread about the loudest games ever at the fieldhouse , but couldn't find it. But for the record , yesterday's women's game has to rank in the top five.......... I had to leave at halftime , couldn't take it anymore. Had to save something for the men's game...........

Yes, nothing beats thousands of screaming 8 year olds for shear ear splitting volume.

      That's a fact Jack!

Can you imagine a men’s game with 10,500 little screamin’ demons?

Check at the video at the bottom of the page. :D

Last night was one of the weaker crowd efforts. I could hear the coaches. Of course I don't think this group of chearleeders is probably the weakest group I have seen and don't really try and get the crowd up and going.

I was the one starting probably about half the stuff from the student section last night. It was kinda sad.

Half the problem is that the cheerleaders are using chants that nobody can make sense of. Eh. Hopefully the Tulsa game will be better. I know I'll be there and loud, as usual.

Iowa followed by Florida State. I missed the FSU game because of prior obligations.

              Go Shocks!!!!

I'm expecting a good effort for the Tulsa game. There better be about 5000 extra people. If we can hold Tulsa for a couple of minutes on defense to start the game, the clapping should get loud.
Add the NIT type of rabid fans who don't get to many games to the 10400 regulars & we might have something. Oh are another thing, will beer be sold at IBA?

Iowa then FSU. I was at the Iowa game. The FSU game was loud even on my radio. I couldn't hear Kennedy and Dahl.

I have a hard time believing there could be a game louder than the FSU game. The atmosphere was postively electricly charged from the moment you walked into the front door. What a fun game that was! Only could have been better if we would have won. (coach's fault for not fouling, and preventing the 3 point goal).

I was at both Iowa and FSU. I'd have to admit that Iowa was so long ago it's hard to recall, but FSU was flat out one of the loudest things I've ever witnessed. I had one of those "rock concert" hangovers the day after. I talked to Mike Kennedy about it last year and he agreed.
I had season FOOTBALL tix... did you?

Overall game atmosphere (from introductions to conclusion) = FSU game

Second half atmosphere = Iowa (it's not even close... nothing, I repeat nothing will EVER compare to this NCAA second round game)

Both incredibile atmospheres; however two completely different situations.
You just don't get NCAA home games anymore.

Without a doubt the FSU game was different. I concur with the comment about the electricity from the time you walked into the arena. People were just fired up! From warm-ups through intro, through the game it never let down. I thought I was going to pass out when Jamar hit the 3. Seriously. I was holding my two year old and thought we were both going down.

On the flip side, I have to admit that I am really disappointed with the atmosphere this year. It is pathetic. From song selection, to cheer leading. What's the deal? It just seems dead in there. Is it simply our sucky home schedule? Could be. When I look at the ticket stub for tonight I just can't get into it. Sad to admit. I love the Shocks but c'mon.

Perfect example of the ineptitude of the whole package this season:

During a timeout when Nicholls State was on about an 8-2 run, they decided to break into the low brass cheer.

                            :good:

Iowa 2nd half, if you were there, there is no debate. For a whole game the FSU game.

Does anyone remember the the first game back from Japan and the sanctions had been announced? The place was screamin four minutes before game time and when the team came out it was incredible...those kids had to have been very down at the time. Showed just how great Shocker fans are!
