Two guys who need to see more time are Kyles and Blair. When they learn to keep their feet on the ground and stop committing silly fouls the refs will let them have the minutes they deserve.

I love a good block from behind but your asking for a foul even if it's all ball. Half the time the ref is blowing the whistle before the play has happened.

Coach Marshall mentioned on one of the local Sports programs (I think the Shocker Report on KS22) that he didn't like players holding onto the ball. He wanted them to either shoot it or pass it. He didn't mention any names, but the first player I thought of was Hatch. He hold the ball way to long.

        This is silly. That's all.

I think the most average fouls and worst shooting percentage on the team are instructive. Even more so than the crack pipe.
Those stats show Hatch shooting better from 3pt (42.9%). His overall FG% is probably lower because of his trying to drive inside too much. He probably needs to stay outside and go inside only to get rebounds.

I didn't think my post was any more silly or stupid than all the posts about sitting Hatch and giving his minutes to someone else.

If someone else earns those minutes, they will get them. Taking minutes away from a player who has earned them and giving them to a player who hasn't is a great way to get out of the business of coaching D1 basketball.

So how does a guy who's not very athletic and can't jump and is only 6'4" happen to outrebound the big, athletic guys?

I trust the WSU coaching staff and I'll bet anything they're going to stick with Hatch all year and he will end up being one of the top 7 or 8 players in minutes per game.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I agree that a good rebounder will oftentimes outboard a bad rebounder.

That's a great point, and maybe the only reason Hatch gets the minutes he does?

The same way Randy Burns used to grab all those boards. Combination of instinct, timing, hustle and help from the big guys blocking the opposing big guys out.

For a 5-10 guard, he was a mighty fine rebounder. He always amazed me.

                              You make an excellent point.

With all this emphasis on toughness, does it mean team fouls will skyrocket like Afternoon Delight.
