Blair is our leader at 5.3. Hatch is #2 at 4.4.

He's not. Blair is at 5.3 rpg in just 16 minutes per game.

Hatch is second with 4.4 (20 mpg) followed by Murry and Stutz at 3.6.

For 40 mpg averages it looks like this:

      Orukpe with 15
      Blair with 13.2
      Stutz with 9.4
      Hatch with 8.8
      Ellis with 6.8
      Murry with 6
      Durley with 5
      Smith with 5

No real suprises here except that Durley and Smith should be higher and Blair should be playing more minutes.

        :good:

Even without the HCGM statements, I don't see Garrett being able to guard anyone on NSU effectively and just getting into foul trouble, putting them on the line. Only difference with Durley, he would be not putting them on the line due to his matador's cape.

By the way, I'll guess more Blair and Smith.

You sit Durley who is a post player and is in love with the three until he learns to set that wide load down inside and play the post and take the three when available and not look for it all the time and get inside and get some damn rebounds instead of flirting around at the three point line. Someone needs to get in Stutz'es grill and get him a bit angry and get him back to that bit of a mean streak he was starting to show last year.

Why sit Hatch? He's not scoring, but has assists, rebounds, and steals, and gives 100% effort all the time, he might tune it down a bit at times. Perhaps our second best defender behind Murry, not as flashy but gets the job done.

Hatch is not particularly talented and you don't get points for effort. Great guy, mediocre player.

His effort has lead to a number of points and possessions gained and/or kept. Somebody has to do the dirty work the others won't.

I think we are at a defining moment for this team. This just reminds me of what happened to CU last year. They were in position to pull off a couple big non-conference wins but lost. Then they lose a couple to other decent teams and then a team meltdown occurs. And what should have been a real good season went downhill fast.

This team is either going to forget the pre-season press clippings and get the chip back on their shoulder and embrace each of their individual roles and put their selfishness aside or this season will be a bust.

Talent and results are different. Results put up W's talent means squat.

His fouls and wild shots are effectively turnovers that negate his other efforts.

If we can agree that all things equal two players giving the same effort will result in better production from the more talented player then can we agree that there are many degrees of effort and talent combined that will produce different results? I'm arguing that Hatch's high effort coefficient is insufficient to produce acceptable results for a starter when partnered with his talent.

Marshall is looking for toughness. Who else is going to provide that? You want to sit the one guy who brings it to the court every game? I'm not sure how many "wild" shots I've seen Graham take.

Can you pass the crack pipe that backs this up?

I think the most average fouls and worst shooting percentage on the team are instructive. Even more so than the crack pipe.

Are you factoring in rebounds, assists, steals and turnovers?, I think not!
