Here is an interesting Top 5 list published in the Topeka Capital Journal in 1999. Not sure anyone would have broken into these lists since that time.
In any case, it is a little hard to imagine Connor Frankamp matching up athletically with these players. OTOH, Larry Bird did not match up athletically very well either, but he was off the charts when it came to Basketball IQ and Skills. This may be where Connor has the goods.
Connor's career path will be interesting to follow to say the least.
BTW, I'm not saying he will be another Larry Bird. Just that there is more than one way to skin a cat.

It's been over 30 years since anyone has been added to the list...stay tuned, huh?
I was searching for items on Ricky Ross so maybe the list has been updated since then, but it is hard to imagine a Kansas Top 5 list that did not include Ricky.

I have to readily admit I am biased, being a '79 grad at South, so for Ricky to be taken off the list Allen, Carr, Valentine & Samuels would have to go before him...IMO.
Their no doubt that their have been some very fine Kansas high school players since the time of that Top 5. However, I can't think if anyone right off the bat that I think would supplant any of these 5 players. Of course, at my age the ol'memory ain't exactly working full time anymore.

My Dad got to guard Lucious Allen for about 2 minutes when he was in high school. Lucious scored 6 points on him before my Dad was pulled and placed on his customary seat at the end of the bench at Hutch High.

That is a good story. It reminds me of a story told to me by Dave Skinner, who played at WSU in the late '60's, early 70's. He claimed to have held Lew Alcindor to around 40 points when the Shocks played UCLA in the late '60's. We laughed!!!

Dido...I've slept since then myself!!! :D
"Dido"?
Sounds like a South grad. j/k
No Kansas High School basketball list can be without Valentine, Carr and Ross. Ever. I don't care who comes along.

Hey Doc, ease up on the South grad thing...I had to look up dido in Websters just to make sure of its latin meaning. Didn't want to look bad to my fellow-SN posters. You're right by the way (I hate it when you're right) that Valentine, Carr & Ross can't be left off the list...ever!!! Did I mention I hate it when you're right.
:D
There just aren't any truely dominant players in college any more with so many kids being one-and-done. Guys like Alcindor, Chamberlain, and Walton have gone the way of the dodo. It would have been nice to see Lebron in college, or Durant play thru his senior year.
