  • No UMKC prediction thread?

We have an UMKC thread but no prediction thread. With seniors Hatch, Ellis, Durley and Brown that witnessed an UMKC player sliding across our center court on his belly. Toure', Kyles, and Stutz who watched them celebrate like they had won the NCAA's and a Head Coach that witnessed it all. 85-60 Shocks. :wsu_posters:

Don't know how deep UMKC is, or just how tired our guys are. If the Roos are pretty deep, I would not be surprised to see them run the whole game to try to run our legs out. We are VERY deep, but we are tired as well, so I'm not making a prediction on score (because I hardly ever do), but I will predict a win for us because no matter how tired we are, I think our athletes can out-athlete their athletes.

      Shox -- 83
Shoes with zipper pouches (remember those?)-- 65

The team starts off slow but by the second half shakes the jet lag and puts the hammer down.

I haven't made many predictions this season and probably won't make many as the year goes on, but I have the feeling, even with the travel issues and Hawaii hangover, that we are going to look like the real deal starting tonight.

I expect a very, very sharp performance, and in turn, a real whipping.

Sorry Jay and Reggie. I hope you both have nice games, and a warm round of applause for Reggie would be nice. He gave it his all here.

        87-55 Good guys.

EO gets 2 dunk and at least 3 blocks.

                WSU 83
                UMKC 58

It would be a bigger margin, but the mop up crew allows the game to get closer than it should.

Is this the same coach from HCGM's first two years here? If so he may not call off the dogs.

HCGM is not a "sic the dogs on you" coach. These are 20-something year-old kids. They will have their legs. The only reason for a less than stellar performance would be lack of practice continuity over the past several days. I'm not a score predictor. It won't be a 30-point blowout, more like 20. Doesn't appear the Roos are very deep based on their statistics. I did notice, and had forgotten, another Korver on the D-1 scene. No doubt Kyle was the best and the talented Korver's go down hill from there. Doesen't appear Kirk will be much more than just another butt on the bench.

I hope the new players (EO, Ben Smith, Hamilton, ...) get some more time

I'm interested to see how the minutes are distributed this week. With three games last week then three more *this week (the last of which being the very important matchup @ SDSU) I would imagine that in the home games, score permitting, we give the new guys more minutes to continue to deepen our bench experience.
