Drake goes down by 44. That's two losses by over 40 points so far this year. And to teams that I believe are picked at least in the bottom half of their conferences. Although Iowa State looks like they may be much better than projected.

Still, MVC teams should not be losing by Alcorn St. margins.

There has been a lot of talk about McDermott being a good coach, but UNI improved after he left and it looks like ISU has improved since he left. At what point does getting a 3rd place finish at UNI (mostly on the back of Ben Jacobsen hitting crazy shots) wear thin?

I think WSU, MSU, and CU will be decent this year. UNI has a shot at respectability. After that, this league looks like the SWAC.

Unfortunately, CU will only be respectable in the second semester. CU will tank their OOC and then bring in another front court player and be a force in the Valley.

That's going to give the appearance that the Valley is weaker than it actually is.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

              +1

I think Greg does very well with inferior talent because of all the plays and all the thinking that is required. With better players, I believe he tends to restrict them too much and not get "full value". He's perfect for UNI. Time will tell how he's going to do at CU, but I see very little upside.

What is with all the Jake Kelly is going to save Indiana State or that he's a future NBA player?

Is he that good or is it just delusional Trees fan?

Doc, I know you have a say in this cause I just saw your post on mvcfans but I am hoping someone could explain why they think he willl be so good.

The Tree fans are basing it on the fact that he won a couple of Big Ten Player of the Week awards at the end of his stay at Iowa. He's a decent MVC guard, but I watched him play regularly at Iowa, and he's no NBA talent.

                    Toure will shut him down.

A bit of home cooking from the refs in the last couple minutes of regulation in this game.
