  • How long has it been since the Valley been this bad?

Seriously this conference is really bad. We should win this conference easily, the only other half way decent team is Missouri st. and they are a NIT team at best.

ShockerFever, what is your prediction for WSU's MVC record?

Challenging others' thoughts without providing your own is lame, lame, lame.

So, SF, do you think were are only one game better than last year or is the Valley only one game worse?

              I'm going 15-3.

The Valley may appear worse and may end up being worse, but teams go through all kinds of flows through the year. Some teams will toughen up, become more consistent and they'll be more challenging. Of course, they're gonna still appear to be junk to outsiders thanks to the disappointing non-con.

How many times in our history did we go better than 14-4, 15-3, 16-2?

I hope the hell we go 16-2 or something crazy like that, but honestly that's asking for quite a lot.. especially from a team that struggles outside of CKA..

We are good. I'm anxious to see how we do in road games but I thinking 16-2 is a possibility.

i agree with this. this wsu team is, overall, more talented than the sweet 16 team. there isnt a player as dominant as paul miller, but this team, imo, makes it up with greater depth. combine that with the fact that this league clearly isnt even close to as strong as it was then and i will be disappointed if the team doesnt go 15-3 or better.

The San Diego game will tell the tale if our beloved Shocks are dancing without a dominating conference win or conference tourney victory. Because of our conference and it's position in the NCAA hierarchy things must bounce our way or we're once again in the NIT. As I said last year, the Valley is doomed as a conference, especially in light of the new configurations and football clustering. The Shocks must run to a large conference that has a mix of D-I football and non-football universities.

                      Go Shocks!!!!

One or two losses in conference.

I really don't look at our non conference as a means to get us into the tournament as an at large. We need to win these out of conference games to improve our seeding in the NCAA tourney. This is our year to sweep the MVC regular season and tournament championships. We will go to the ncaa's and we have a team that can get to at least the sweet 16, maybe further depending on what seed we get. However if this team progresses like I think they will throughout the year and we are injury free @ the end of the year it likely won't matter what seed we get because well be capable of beating a lot of the teams in the field.

Another not so good night for the Valley:

SIU loses by 19 to Purdue

Drake is losing by 40+ with about 7 minutes to go against St. Johns.

Illinois St. beats South Dakota (who has yet to win a Div 1 game)

Creighton beats Kennesaw State (1-4 although that win was Georgia Tech)
