BCS teams we've never played?

I have been surprised this week to hear that we've never played UCONN or Virginia?

I'm curious to know what BCS teams we've never played before and what that percentage is? You would think that the list would be small given the number of years we've been playing basketball but it sounds like the list is much larger than I thought it was.

Hopefully, if we make it to the tournament we'll be matched up against BCS teams rather than other mid major type teams.

I remember that when we played Stanford that Kennedy said that was the only PAC 10 team WSU had never played. Don't know about the other conferences though.

It's kind of sad comparing those old schedules to what we have now. Even look at the schedules from the Mike Cohen years. There are some pretty big names that came to play in Wichita.

Why did we play Drake in Lawrence?

Drake was a first round NCAA Tourney win.

Creighton and Kansas State were NCAA Regional games

WSU and Drake tied for the regular season and thus had to break the tie to make it to the NCAA tourney. (no post-season MVC tourament)

Lawrence was a pretty logical place.

Interesting in those old schedules that we had home games with Texas etc., but we also had some road games at Ft. Hays State and Washburn.

Many of the teams on the schedule were not so highly regarded back then. I still remember when Oklahoma started having some good teams. I held my nose pretty high when discussing them. Probably very KU like.
