  • Your formula is 'spot on' RDR.

Even though we played better today and fouled less, we are still committing more turnovers than our opponents. DWill did not seem to have all of these troubles last year as a Frosh. Hopefully he can shore this up. Rags is looking better and should take ove the PG slot soon.

I think D-Will is pressing. Generally, competition for playing time should make you better. However, it seems to be doing the opposite for D-Will.
HCGM has a little bit of a player psychology challenge on his hands to get D-Will settled down.

DWill was better than JRags against UConn. JRags was better than DWill today. They both are struggling overall.

I think as crazed fans we are having some knee-jerk reactions to the moment.

We just have to believe that HC3GM is all over them in practice and working it out.

        • That's why we play about 12 noncon games. When the Valley rolls around the PG position will be a strength.

            • The team played better today. Kyles has been a man among boys. I hope to see this all year long. Blair, Durley, Murry, Smith, and Stutz all had solid games. Although I am disappointed with the defense in the paint especially with JT. It was pretty obvious why he is not starting right now. He did not give much an effort with help defense. Dribble penetration and help defense seems to be a big weakness right now.

Shooting has been a big strength so far. We shot 51% from the field today and 41% from behind the 3-point line. We only had 3 free throws today, anyone want to complain? Since we are throwing up a lot of 3 pointers this number is going to stay low. Plus the fact that the refs let the teams play physical ball, which is nice.

              • Murry has to start. I just don't see us reaching our potential if he doesn't

However, I don't get paid by WSU to make decisions.

                • We really need to come out of this tournament with something other than one win against Chaminade.

Shocks win over Virginia 75-74 on our only FT attempt of the game.

                  • Jucos

I've been following the game threads for 2 days now & I see little realization of the fact tha Juco transfers typically take awhile to get used to playing Div 1 ball. Rags is going to get it. Ben Smith is going to get it. They only had one game under their belts going into the game with UCONN yesterday!

It was actually worse than that while the announcers were focusing on UK. On the possession before he hit the three Garrett got great position on the block against Diarra and tossed in a nice little left-handed bank shot. Then I believe he also got the rebound on Chaminade's ensuing possession, then he knocked down the three, then he made the block, then he pulled down the strong defenseive rebound. The Shocks came down and DK hit a trey. All of a sudden the announcers were heaping praise on DK (well-deserved), but Garrett pretty much took over the game for several possessions that went totally unnoticed.

                      • Some folks here wondered about Stutz last Season until he dominated in the Iowa game. We have not seen the "Best Of Stutz" yet. Foe sure for sure.
