You know it's bad when Shocker fans are rooting for CU. It reminds me of the dark days of rooting for Tulsa. The 90's.

Yes, the Valley has got that bad.

I dislike CU as much as anyone, but we need wins on this league in a bad way. Let's hope this is not a preview of what's to come.

Considering how much we, as a league, are putting into our programs I wonder why we are doing so bad.

    Any thoughts?

What does it make you wonder?
      Your masculinity or lack thereof?
      Your numerous personal body odors?
Or maybe you meant wander as in exploring your individual?

My foray into being a kinder and gentler poster is about to come to a halt, due to being exposed to constant dumbazz posts. 8)
not to jump into this argument but I too wondered what is there to worry about other than if the guys are ready.

Creighton losing or EU winning has no bearing on how Wichita State plays.
Don't want to pile on, but it's like saying Butler is cowering in a corner because of the rest of the Horizon's conference results.

I think I asked this question a year or two ago and the general response was "These things are cyclical. In 2006 the valley had a greater-than-average number of upperclassmen, so expect a cyclical upswing soon." Obviously, that doesn't seem to be happening, so there must be additional factors as well. So I'd like to know what everyone thinks about this now too.

One reason we are not seeing the benefit of upperclassmen is because Ill St lost a lot to transfer and graduated the rest. No one will stay at SIU for more than 2 years. Northern Iowa just graduated all their players. Bradley has constant injury issues in its front court and Drake, Creighton, and Indiana State just got new coaches.

That leaves WSU and MSU without excuses...First and Second in the league...

I don't think Butler is cowering in the corner for anybody. They, unlike WSU, have been consistently good for a few years now.

The general conversation in many threads has been the lack of consistent quality of play by the Valley as a whole. Yesterday, especially, the MVC took quite a hit. another shocker is more than capable of speaking for himself, but my guess is the day before WSU plays one of their biggest noncon games of the season, the Valley teams tank & he was just making an innocent comment about the situation. I was thinking the same thing, to be honest. No harm...no foul; now let's kick the s$@t out of UConn!!!

Yeah Butler isn't a good comparison at all. Nobody in this league is remotely close to comparable to that school. Butler doesn't need the Horizon to help them. We however need the Valley to help us. That's the way it is at this point.

Even so, I still didn't mind sCUm taking one on the chin like that. Funny stuff!
                    Deuces Valley.
                    ... No really, deuces.

My post was totally relevant, totally legit.

Are there no moderators on this board? Is SHOXMVC the only person that recognises that ShockRef went way out of bounds? ..Insinuating I'm a stinkin' ****** because of that simple post?! What the..? Yeah, I am still pissed off about it.

You owe me an apology, ShockRef.

                            OK. I couldn't resist commenting.

I think everybody knew what another shock meant by his post. No, he didn't really think WSU was in trouble because of the rest of the Valley's performance (I don't think, the "totally legit" part threw me). On the other hand, right or wrong, true or false, we would have felt more confident had the Valley been doing very well. Kind of like, "This is our, and the Valley's year" feeling. Call it vibes.

Nevertheless, those "vibes" had scoreboard, another Valley team went down and in an important game.

I really like ShockRef's posts and insights. However, I feel his post could have been just the last line and enough said. As it was, there was nothing about the post that was "being a kinder and gentler poster is about to come to a halt", it did come to a halt. I'm always surprised at how some here approach their "brothers and sisters in a common passion, love, enjoyment" with so little respect. Hey, it's a sports fan board! Some posters make consistently good and well thought out comments, others are just having a conversation. For some of us, it's a lot harder to make brilliant posts or avoid stupid ones (I may not be avoiding that now :noidea: ).

And for those who feel like laughing at another shock's reaction, I'd like to be a fly on the wall and watch your reaction if someone stuck that mini barrage in your face personally. Online, or in person, one should conduct themselves the same. They should treat others as they would like to be treated. Yes, there are those, particularly trolls, who ask for it. But even then, just ignoring them is probably the best, and most effective, action.
