  • Over 40 minutes

After only 1 game here is a different way to view statistical efficiency over a 40 minute game.

    Aaron Ellis: 5 pts/5 reb/2.5 TO
    Joe Ragland: 20.9 pts/9.5 ast/3.8 reb/1.9 TO
    D. Williams: 14 pts/2 ast/10 TO/2 stl
    Graham Hatch: 3.8 pts/9.5 reb/11.4 ast/2.2 TO/3.8 stl
    Ben Smith: 13.3 pts/4.4 reb/6.7 ast/2.2 TO
    Eihmen Orukpe: 13.3 pts/23.3 reb/10 blk/6.7 TO
    Toure' Murry: 21.1 pts/6.3 reb/6.3 ast...zero TO!!!
    David Kyles: 40 pts/4 reb/2 TO
    J.T. Durley: 21.1 pts/ 4.2 reb/2.2 TO
    Gabe Blair: 7.5 pts/10 reb/2.5 ast/2.5 TO/2.5 Blk/2.5 stl
    Garrett Stutz: 10.7 pts/10.7 reb/2.7 ast/2.7 TO

I know it's only 1 game, but it really speaks to efficiency. Rags was very efficient and will be ready, very soon, to take over the PG IMO...D-Will's ast-TO ratio is horrible, but will obviously improve...excepts for points, Hatch is very efficient...Smith's line doesn't suck...how about EO, you think he's an efficient rebounding machine...Toure' is solid...if only Kyles could keep his play at this level...Durley is a little disappointing in the rebounding column...Like to see Gabe score a little more, he will...need more points out of Stutz, which will of course come...AE is AE, no surprises there.

This is just a different way to look at efficiency of a player while they were in the game.

      Kyles: 25.3 pts...4.1 reb...2.5 ast...1.6 TO...1.6 stl
      Durley: 21.6 pts...4.7 reb...1.6 ast...1.2 TO
      Murry: 21.9 pts...7.4 reb...5.3 ast...2.5 TO...1.0 stl
      Rags: 13.3 pts...2.9 reb...6.8 ast...1.9 TO
      Hatch: 10.7 pts...8.7 reb...5.1 ast...3.0 TO
      Smith: 15.9 pts...6.0 reb...5.3 ast...3.0 TO...1.5 blk
      Stutz: 13.4 pts...11.2 reb...4.9 ast...4.2 TO...3.0 blk
      Blair: 11.0 pts...13.5 reb...1.2 ast...2.9 TO...2.5 stl...2.7 blk
      D-Will: 9.0 pts...3.6 reb...4.8 ast...6.5 TO...1.8 stl
      Ellis: 5.3 pts...7.0 reb...1.1 ast...1.1 TO...0.5 stl
      Orukpe: 8.7 pts...20.0 reb...8.9 TO...6.7 blk

Would like to see Durley rebound better...Murry over a 2-1 ast-TO ratio...Rags TO ratio is well over 3-1...Hatch solid, doesn't need to score except for timely 3's; needs to cut down on dumb fouls...Smith, has to get more minutes; has to...Stutz, he will fare much better the rest of noncon & Valley...Blair, can be a beast of a rebounder...D-Will, Ast-TO ration is horrible...Orukpe, hands of stone must get softer, but can he rebound or what.

From the stats alone, you can certainly draw the line for an eight man rotation.

In terms of a small ball lineup for certain match-ups, what about these 5 together 'for a spell' based on the stats listed above.

              Rags--Durley--Hatch--Toure'--Kyles?

Not a horrible line-up, but I do like having two guys in that are 6-8 plus all the time. I actually think that team could get a lot of rebounds, except we might be jacking a lot of threes (and hitting them at a 50% clip).

If some lower tier MVC team wants to zone us, I could see it.

Even the lowest tiered MVC wouldn't zone that group, they'd just go back to man.

We're going to see a fair amount of zone, so we better keep moving the ball like we did in the last 2 Hawaii games.
