  • Bradley beats USC

Bradley Braves outlasted the USC trojans. 64-63

Bradley is now 4-0 and moves on further in the winners bracket of their tournament (Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament).
I'm not completely sure how good of a win this is yet, but it's BCS school which is always a good thing :)

Considering how great the Valley is doing so far we'll take anything we can get.

The Daily Hampshire Gazette is the essential daily news source for the Pioneer Valley from Northampton, MA, in Franklin County.

I guess it's more of a showcase than tournament. No bracket involved. some teams play 3 predetermined teams, while others only play 1.

Seems like a strange system. Hah, it's no Maui that's for sure! ;)

I dunno what happened to the games of interest thread, but San Diego State was down 27-6 to UW-Green Bay with 10 minutes left in the first half and came all the way back for the 79-70 win. Interesting to say the least..

At minimum this should prove they're not the automatic loss everyone was making them out to be.

I should point out the game was played at a neutral site in Ohio.

We have yet to see how our team plays on the road this year. We know last year they were not stellar away from CKA.

Pending on this upcoming weeks' festivities, based on what I saw last week when they played at Gonzaga, this is about as close to an automatic L as they come.

Sounds like SDSU was reading on SN how they were a shoe-in to win the national championship and mailed it in the first half.

Agreed, not for sure why everyone is assuming we will get our a##es handed to us that game.

In addition to Bradley outlasting USC 64-63, ISU-blue beat winless ORU 74-69, while UNI lost to Wisconsin-Milwaukee 65-63.

MVC now 18-10 in noncon...not good, as too many good win opportunities fall by the wayside...again.

Tomorrow is another day for the Valley:
                    Evansville @ Indiana
                    Iowa St. vs. Creighton
                    TCU vs. Bradley
                    Austin Peay @ SIU
                    ISU-Red @ Ark-L/R

                    GO MVC!!!

If we don't hammer UNI twice this season, I'm going to come unglued.

Milwaukee is awful. UNI is awful. They're back to the same annoying little team in a crappy program that they used to be, with a good coach.

I thought before the season began that Northern Iowa would probably be rebuilding this year. They just lost too much from last season.

To say Milwaukee is awful might be a little overboard, Doc. Not to say that maybe they shouldn't be 4-1 or 5-0 given who they've played and not 3-2, but they did win 20 games last year, losing to Bulter by 7 at home and by 9 in the conference tourney. They also have 4 seniors and 4 juniors, 5 of whom lead the team in minutes and all 5 in the top 6 in scoring. And UNI did play them on the road.

Still, this was not a quailty loss for UNI by any means.

USC may be down, but at least Bradley's win is one, if not the only MVC win against a respectable basketball opponent.

And the Shocks will add to this tomorrow.

Bradley did win and is 4-0, so they are holding up their end within the Valley.

However, the win was one, more in name than in substance.
