Yeah I understand the points system. Myself and 2 other friends have 2 tickets each (total of 6 together). We've owned tickets since the first year of the points system, made exactly the same donation every year (in fact I'm ahead by $100). 4 of our tickets are together in the upper level Section 211L, 10 rows up...the other 2 tickets are in Section 220L Row 1. Seems odd.

Hopefully, the addition of alcohol being served (I assume it will be, since IBA is off-campus) will allow some of the fans to get loud for the actual game, instead of just the dance cam.
Alcohol will be in play so we have that going..

It's pretty sad that the lame and VERY repetitive dance cam is the only thing the gameday production has going during timeouts.

That is a bit odd. I can tell you that a computer program determined all of the seats. To put it simply, a compiled list of priority points was entered into the computer, a general guideline was set up, and the computer did the rest. I would venture to say they didn't go much higher in 211 and then the rest got diverted to 220. You probably got split up by lots of people having the same amount of points and then everything defaulting to last name, alphabetical order.

The students have sections 122 and 123 and the band will be sitting in 122 at the bottom. It is very similar to how it is set up in St. Louis with the students sitting behind the band. I will be curious to see how early the students start lining up outside of the IBA to get the lowest seats.

Select-A-Seat still has lower bowl tickets in what appears to be low rows behind one of the baskets. They're $52! Upper bowl seats are $26.

At least Shocker basketball is getting hefty asking prices

StubHub has tickets available from around $26 to $93. Yikes! I wonder how many scalpers ended up with IBA Gold Club (or whatever it's called) tickets?

I bet calling the WSU ticket office and/or select-a-seat has just as much impact as yelling at referees. I am simply not going to the game and will not be giving my seats away. The only thing that will get their attention is empty seats. Yes, they already have the season ticket money, but a 15K seat barn with a bunch of empty seats will send a message that even they will be able to hear.
The athletic department is a joke of all jokes.

However, a big empty arena for our players is something they don't deserve and I wouldn't like to see.

There has to be a better way to make a point to the AD office without punishing the players at the same time.. especially when it's only one game we're talking about.
I agree that the players do not deserve to be punished and punishing the players is not my intent. The atheltic department is who I want to make my point to. They have taken on a sense of entitlement and don't really care what the season ticket holders want as long as they get their money. If you have a better idea for getting the point across, I'm all ears.

Your idea that this is only one game has a flaw. If they view this game as successful, I bet Shocker games at IBA become at least an anual event, if not more often. And then what do we do?

The NCAA requires at least one game during the season be held at the arena so that they can evaluate how it comes off and make any suggestions for changes prior to the Tournament.

They aren't going to have a Women's game that draws a 1,000 fans to "show off" to the NCAA.

I am concerned that a poor turnout for the Women's Tournament could poison our chances for hosting a couple of rounds in the Men's Tournament. Unfortunately, I do not expect that this event will be well attended, even if the Lady Shocks make it into the Tournament (which seems somewhat unlikely at this point). Hopefully, one has nothing to do with the other.
I doubt this has less to do with showing off to the NCAA and more to do with the fact that a women's game would be a huge financial loss at IBA.

I do agree that a small turn out for the women's tourney will probably influence our chances at getting to host any part of the men's tournament.

We share a set of season tickets with two other couples. I did not request the Tulsa game because I planned on getting three or four cheap seats so our kids could go with us. When I saw the prices and extra fees I decided it wasn't worth it.

Im going to the game with a friend who won tickets through his job at coleman. Only thing I really know is that I owe him $13 for the tickets.

With that said I think we both plan on sitting in the bar most of the night which from the one time I was there (thanks Doc!) seemed like the sightlines were good.

But then of course this is my one time to act like a creighton fan in Wichita so I might just take full advantage of it!

                        LOL

let me clarify, he won the tickets but still has to pay for them. Im going to assume that Coleman is a sponsor for the game in some fashion and they offered up discount tickets as a prize of some sort. So he had to pay for the tickets.

Just a chance to vent here...not happy at all about the tix and the way the seating is done. Talked to the ticket office and they stated that the arena is not set up for a good basketball venue. WTF were we thinking when building the arena? The shockers would be a big draw, basketball is huge in Kansas, and we want to hose NCAA regionals. How did we design a building that does not set up well for basketball?

I haven't looked into it but I'm pretty sure mine are in the upper bowl. I'll have to check where when I get a chance to run home. If this sucks as much as I'm afraid it will I hope they DO NOT include it in the season ticket package next time. Hell, I'd probably have a much better view watching the game on TV anyway.

Interestingly I talked to someone who said they called the ticket office and asked about upgrading their tickets a long time ago...the respose from the ticket office was "Not to worry, season ticket holders will be seated in the lower bowl" A little lesson in math would tell you that's not possible. Clearly WSU didn't have a clue how this was all going to play out.
