He's Olajuan potentially, but right now, he's just a 7 foot athlete! He's still lost offensively. Think Randy Moss. He'll wow you 3 or 4 times a game, but if his number isn't called, he doesn't know what he's supposed to do.

Never hit the jumper like Olajuwan. Defense and rebounding. If he ever averages 12 a game in college I'll be surprised. That being said he could be our MVP in one or two years.

BOBB - I don't know how good EO will be, but either you either didn't see Olajuwan play or you don't recall how awful he was early in his career. As a redshirt freshman, he was a terrible shooter, only dunked the ball on offense, and he rarely played. He improved a lot his last two or three years and became a pretty good shooter. Then his career took off in the NBA as we all remember. Times were different then so the EO/Hakeem comparison may not be valid, but athletically, EO is really up there.

He (EO) is as good or better right now then Olajuwan was at the same time frame in Houston.

Everyone only seems to remember Olajuwan's Jr. & Sr. years but he was EXTREMELY raw as a freshman and sophomore.

Olajuwan's huge advantage was to have Moses Malone (yes, that one) take him under his wing and work with him each summer.

Lots of concerns and question marks going into Hawaii. If our starters aren't playing that well, then we don't need the second string practicing out there late. It sounds like our starters (minus Kyles) need just as much work.

Add that to the (lack of) inside production and I have a bad feeling about Hawaii..

The game was much more lopsided than the score indicated. I didn't really like the "line changes," I'd much rather see individual subs. I don't really like the "Toure at point" lineup all that much, I'd rather have Ragland out there. Although after tonight, I don't see how you can keep Kyles out of the starting lineup. I love Hatch, but I would have no problem with him losing his starting spot. I'm not sure how much of Kyles play tonight was just because of him draining three after three, but if he can keep that type of shooting up, it would be amazing. EO is extremely fun to watch. Texas Southern straight up refused to drive after he got a block or two. When they shot inside the three point line, the shot was an obvious rainbow. I'm pumped about our chances in Maui.

Stutz and Durley both did not do much tonight. Of course, we have to get the ball inside to them before they can do something. They outrebounded us in the first half, especially offensive boards.

Our guards stand around and hem-haw too much around the perimeter. Our offense now does not look any different than when Turgeon was here. Know why I like Kyles, because something happens when he gets the ball.

DWill had a bad game, made several mistakes, like a freshman.
Rags will be okay, needs to get with the flow a little better. Actually Toure looked better at PG tonight.

What happened to defense the last 10 minutes of the game? The last 5 minutes was pure slop. Brown needs to continue to keep the bench warm.

If we get sloppy against UConn, you can kiss that game good-bye, and I am not left with a very good feeling after the way we ended the game tonight. We should have won by 30+ points.

Yes, we started out very sloppy, but once we got going I thought we looked fine. We could have won this game by 30+ if we wanted to. We probably had a -10 point differential just from Derek Brown being on the court. There's no point in playing starters and running a hard full court press up 20 points.

I saw Olajuwan play as a fr,all he could do was rebound & block shots , everybody said if he ever learn how to play he will be something special. The next year something clicked and the rest is history.EO is special just like that,if he ever learn how to play watch out.He has the goods to be whatever his work ethic will allow.Long,athletic,quick,stamina,and bright.

TS wasn't going to let Stutz beat them. They were using an extra defender between Stutz and the ball to keep him from getting the ball and they were collapsing 2 or 3 guys on him when he got it.

I'm certain WSU's game plan was to go inside and they didn't react right away when TS's strategy was to prevent that at any cost. Once Stutz figured out to pass when he got the ball and when the 3's started falling - game over. Stutz had a bad stats night, but we still got something like 16 or 18 points out of the post position.

Murry at point isn't a bad option. The way Kyles was playing, he HAD to have a spot on the floor for a lot of minutes. DWill and JRags are the question marks, so taking their minutes makes sense.

For the Hatch detractors, you're criticizing a guy who had 6 assists? His shot wasn't falling, so he found open players when he got the ball. A lot of people would consider that adjusting to the game conditions and salvaging a good game when his shot wasn't falling. But when Hatch does it, some fans want him on the bench.

I'll say it again. Murry did fine playing PG. If you think Murry should be playing somewhere else, tell Marshall. He thought Murry did a fine job.

Rags telegraphs passes and needs to work on his handles a bit. He'll be fine, but this is his first year of D1 ball. He needs some time to adjust. I don't know what happened to DWill. I suspect he may be pressing due to the competition. He looked a lot better at the end of last season. I think he'll be fine if we give him some time. In the meantime, we just happen to have a 6'5" guy who's played PG from time to time in two previous seasons and knows the system and the players very well. Murry only had 3 assists, but if he would have had a TO, hs assist to TO ratio would have been 3:1. Since he didn't have a TO...

...I just don't see the problem with playing him at point right now. Kyles looks like a better 2 than Murry (in this game). The 2 of them together makes for a very tall, fast, and athletic back court. There might be quickness issues against UConn.

EO is much fun to watch. the game changes the moment he steps on the court. He's going to peg that noise meter more than a few times before his career at WSU is done. I don't think I've seen a player better at getting the crowd involved in a game since McDaniel was here.

Our outside shooting could be much better this year than I expected. Very encouraged because of this since I thought it could be a weak spot. If DK strings together a few game similar to this one he's nailed down a starting spot. I expected to see that from him last year. It was worth the wait.

Totally agree with Aargh on Hatch. He's one of those players who finds other ways to help the team if his shot isn't on. Since the PG position isn't our strong point right now, I'll gladly take his 6 assists.
