they've already mentioned WSU. Asking if WSU would be next Butler? Gotta love the publicity.

Not like it's any real pressure or anything, but that talk and pub will evaporate in a hurry if Maui doesn't turn out well.

As SF says, now we're the hunted and it's time the Shox play worthy of such praise and stature.

I would really feel a lot more comfortable about being ready for Maui if we had a second game in our pocket before heading out there.

Marshall has to establish a rotation tonight even if it isnt what we will eventually go with but we have to establish some flow before maui.

Agree. Kind of puzzling why WSU didn't schedule at least one more tune up game prior to Maui.

Will the team go out to Maui on Saturday or Sunday?

HCGM said on the show last night that the reason they didn't get anyone to play them in the first week was because "no one wanted to play us." (paraphased)

A road game against a decent RPI (125-175) team might have done wonders for preping the Shox for the trip to Hawaii.

The playing conditions in Hawaii are vastly different than here. Small high school type gym, no air conditioning, high humidity, high heat, great potential for cramps if the team has not been hydrating extremely well all week. In my opinion, if you haven't taken care of the "conditioning for Hawaii" aspects, no number of games will prepare you for what you face there. I too wish we had another game or two before facing UConn, but as the old saying goes "wish in one hand ..." You play the cards you are dealt.

i like marshall saying in his coaches show we might only play 8 depending on how the game is going. We have to start getting our lineups figured out. our depth will help in case of cramps and fatigue and foul trouble in maui but our rotations need to be shortened

But how do you get it down to 8?
DWill and Rags play. Murry, Hatch, Ellis and Stutz are the other starters. There's 6. Durley and Blair are going to play. That's 8. Where's Kyles, Smith and Ehimen? I could understand Ehimen getting fewer minutes but I'm not sure how you don't play any 2 of the others in significant amounts.

Tightening up the rotation and figuring it out is one thing. having only 8 seems difficult at this point. 9 would be tough.

Not to change the subject, but anyone wanting to check out San Diego State -- they play Gonzaga at 10:00 p.m. on ESPN2.

This could be an exciting year or one incredibly cruel disappointment.

ellis's minutes decrease as the year go on and ehimen right now will be playing situational minutes i think. i know ellis will be starting for now but jt earns that back and blair will be in front of him as well.
