What's up with the Kittie football team? :cry:

Usually about this time of year we are also getting lectures on how the Kittie volleyball team is so much better than WSU even if the record doesn't reflect it. Again, this a year KSU wouldn't play WSU.


What is KSU's record this season? I didn't see them in the rankings, so I don't know.

AGREED! Answering trolls is like wrestling with a pig. You both get dirty, but the pig likes it. Remarkably enough, you DON'T HAVE TO RESPOND TO EVERYTHING! Even I have started responses and deleted them because I realized it was just taking the bait.

Also, while I'll gladly toss anyone temporarily or permanently for clearly egregious postings, if I tossed posters every time just because they rubbed someone the wrong way, there would be hardly anyone here. I also don't want to have to feel like a middle school principal who is constantly dealing with hurt feelings that never go away and kept escalating. I teach middle schoolers all day, I'd rather this not become Shockernet Middle School.

Considering the fact that our title sponsor site is no more (and yes I know the logo is still there, just honoring the original agreement through the end of the year), I am presuming at this point that I will be taking on the financial costs of SN this coming year. Granted it doesn't cost a ton to keep SN operating, but I want to be clear that even with a sponsor this isn't a moneymaking venture considering the time needed to moderate and keep the technical backside running. Most of you probably aren't aware that we have been flooded with spambot registrations for about three months now, and trying to keep those at bay is slowly becoming more time consuming.

Finally, please be aware that while I am an absolute to-the-core Shocker fan, to be honest SN is about 6th or 7th on my priority list at best. God, family, friends, my personal health and well-being, my professional endeavors, and serving my community carry much greater importance to me. Any of you who feels like the boards need a little more watching and moderating, feel free to PM me about becoming a moderator. I'd be more than happy to come home after a game and not feel like I have to be on patrol for an hour or two. And as always, if you think something is out of line, PM me. You may or may not get the response you want, but I do need the SN community being eyes as well. Just remember, this is only a message board:

I'm one of those a-holes who wears the WSU hat with the KSU shirt since I went to both schools. As a student at WSU and K-State during eras when both programs sucked I can honestly say WSU's 'crappy team crowds' were 10 fold louder and larger than K-State's 'crappy team crowds' (and KSU even had 2 NIT teams when I was there). Also KSU's older crowd would sit on their fat butts the whole time, or discuss commodity prices with their brethren rather than watching the game. I could swear many of WSU's seasoned patrons are either drunk, or insane (most likely both) - and that's a good thing.

With today's economy, selling out season tickets is a significant accomplishment for any D1 program, regardless of seating capacity, conference affiliation, or demographics. We can expect WSU season tickets to be sold out for years to come, just like we can expect fans from other schools visiting Shockernet seeking validation.
