Nice job Shocker nation. Now let's make some noise this year -- on the court and in the stands.

You don't suppose we could go undefeated at 21st and Hillside again this regular Season now do you? If not, we need to steal some road games and allow our experience to lead us to become a strong road team, understanding that our home games will take care of themselves.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

But it is so hard to ignore the obvious stink in the room. You can sweep it under the rug, but it still oozes out. Actually, I look for these posts so that I can sit and shake my head at the obviousness of them and what they are trying to do. Look at them and pass them by just like you would any other road kill.

Please remember how KSU counts sales. This started several years ago. When Huggins was first hired, as I recall.

KSU went on their "BIG season ticket sales drive". When they could only sell 7,000 tickets, they decided that they would have 6,000 "student tickets" that year, and they announced they were sold out on season tickets.

The numbers this year seem to indicate they are still doing the same thing.

It's no surprise that KSU gets a lot of students going to games. They're stuck in Manhattan, Kansas. What else is there to do? Study, get beat up in Aggieville, or basketball is about all there is.

Actually, since the "get beat up" district is right next to campus, students can go to the game and still have plenty of time left to go get beat up in Aggieville.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Awesome! I think everyone knew it would happen, just took a little longer than we thought.

Congrats to KSU! I remember going to a almost sold out KSU game a few years back it was literally 1/4 full, so not sure how they calculate those numbers. I'm sure this year will be different though, if they keep winning they won't need to use free hot dogs and/or women’s' games to keep butts in the seats.

There are always 6K student tickets sold as it was part of the agreement when the students contributed $7M for Bramlage. I know it's a foreign concept to commuter school fans but at a traditional college venue like KSU students actually care and go to games. They actually pay ($235 or $295 for combined football/basketball. Football only $150 or $235) for the tickets unlike at WSU where they are free and only 1K bother to go.

"In addition, the 6,000 student seats are located directly behind both team benches on the east side of the coliseum, by far the largest student section in the Big 12, creating an intimidating environment that continues the tradition of K-State basketball."

Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

WSU crowds were way down in the Cohen era. It happens. Though in such a huge metro area like the cultural paradise that is Wichita one would think that a small arena would be sold out all the time with thousands on the waiting list.

                Guess not.

I went to a couple of WSU games when Cohen was coach. Maybe half full at best. Maybe 4500. Bulk of the crowd seemed to be in their 60's. Very quiet. And yes, we sucked a few years back just like WSU when Cohen was WSU coach. Funny how that works.

The point is that crowds at WSU were bad when the team was bad just like at KSU or any other school. The point you are missing is that many of the fans who buy tickets to KSU games travel from K.C., Wichita and further. There will be games they can't make especially on weeknights. The tickets are sold and the Bram is sold out. If you don't believe me call ADJC at (785) 532-6912. But you won't.

I've been to two games at K-State both which involved WSU. One was at the old Ahearn when I was very young and the other at the Bram about 5 years ago.

My girlfriend an I flew to Wichita from Boston for a few days and decided to catch a WSU game v K-State. Unfortunately, my girlfriend thought it was WSU v KU and was very excited to see the Shox play at Allen.
On the long drive to Manhattan, she finally caught on that it was against K-State; not KU. Still I was hoping for a good time and atmosphere for college ball. K-State was a hayseed, backward, hicktown, coyote-nowhere disappointment. The "Bram" was a concrete dug out that looked like it was desgined and built by the old Soviet Gov't.

Sorry BSCat: You might have the 3rd ranked team in the country, but what a terrible town and arena K-State calls home. Good Gracious! You are about two steps below Stoolwater, Oklahoma, and nothing K-State does will ever change that.

Yeah I almost used to have respect for BSCat and somewhat enjoyed updates from another teams perspective, but trashing my team and then saying how much better you think KSU and their fans are does not rub well with me, especially after you made it a point to post it on our forum.
