It was more than $10. I'm working on my DMA at UMKC now. They paid $75 a game last year....maybe the reason there isn't a band this year, that makes me sad.

It has come to my attention that more people need to contact the AD office and complain about the music in order to get anything resolved about it. They have a complete new staff this year and seem to have screwed with everything connected to our Shocker basketball team. If the music cannot be resolved by contacting them, I suggest you let CGM know that the fans don't like the change and he will make sure it gets fixed. I do believe he rules the roost around there.

I could get with this. Its a lot more original than seven nation army which many schools use.

Yea, even if its not used as an intro or something, but at some point during warmups or during the game would be pretty sweet.

I played trumpet at WSU, but I didn't participate in pep band. I did play in BuCo JuCo's pep band though. At Butler, it was a requirement that those of us on music scholarship play in the pep band. I was told this was because athletic revenue paid for much of the fine arts facilities and/or scholarships. I always found it strange that Butler had a larger band in their cracker box gym than WSU had in the Roundhouse. If the athletic department values the band enough to justify changing it for the better, perhaps they could fund it via music scholarships.

I also concur that the band needs more low brass (which has been an issue for years) but also needs to restore some kind of veteran leadership. I wondered what happened to our lead trumpeter of many years, who was outstanding. Its a shame to find out from this board that someone is actually implementing policies that disqualify the most dedicated and talented musicians.
