Iron Wu was pretty cool last year. This year - not so much.

    Liked the intro video.

Wondered what happened to the band and the canned music. The band was weak, which is a shame because it has been so good.

As for the canned music, whoever chose it has no feeling for crowd dynamics. Part of going to the games are the traditions, including the music. It should be loud and rhythmic, just the thing to get a crowd going. Last night, with notable exceptions, it was mostly just loud.

Loved the tunnel cam....needs a lot better music.

IronWu needs updating, video was cool, music was not.

Now, I did think the volume on the music was as good as I've ever heard it. Someone was adjusting it, but they were trying.

LOVED hearing the post game with Mike Kennedy piped through the PA IMMEDIATELY after the game. Well done! Gotta work on the feedback (bad at times) but otherwise very nice!

I would like to hear from Shockband, or anyone else that's has practical band experience on the band last night. Were there instruments not in attendance? Lower than usual numbers? Quality of play?

    Thanks
Seems the WSU AD has paid attention to what happens at the Bram.

Tunnel cam - been done at KSU for several years.
Postgame audio - Been done for a while now including HCFM interview with Wyatt.
Guess you're on your own with the band.

But, is your team dancing in the tunnel yet?

    It's all fun.

I'll believe you are right when we start estimating sheep prices at halftime.

Otherwise, congrats on inventing things that have been around forever.

Yeah I'm sure ADES spends alot of his time up at "the Bram" trying to glean as much expertise from the marketing of the Bram from that marketing giant of the midwest that has become known as kswho? You really are myopic.

I think you pay too much attention to this message board.

I’ll leave it to the usual suspects to publicly flog you; provided, of course, they believe you are worth the effort.

I agree with your assessment of the player intro video -- did not impress me (or those with me). I, however, disagree about the music. Did not like it. I'm sure they can do much better. Don't know what to suggest for them to use, but I do know if I like it when I hear it (and I didn't).

I was talking to the gentleman that has always played the tuba at the woman's exhibition game and I asked him why he wasn't playing. He told me that they no longer want the tuba in the band. I think that hurts our band.

So that us out-of-towners may experience the pain those that were there felt, can anyone tell us what the music in question was?

I liked the digitial display at the scorer's table during a Shocker free throw attempt of the player who was shooting with his pic and signature.

Sorry, don't know about sheep my KSU degrees are in Psychology and Business. Wife in Accounting, daughter Interior Design/Business and son English/Creative writing. All from KSU so your weary ag based "slam" doesn't ring with this KSU family. Maybe you should look inwards because, after all, it's your mascot that is a wheat shock. A farm product.

The top two Kansas counties as a percentage of undergraduate enrollment at Kansas State are Johnson with 3,462 (22.5%) and Sedgwick with 1,530 (10%) which are hardly rural counties. Agriculture is only the 4th highest area of study after Engineering/Tech, Business and Social Sciences.

That would explain a lot. I always felt like the band needed more low brass. And that move has them headed in the wrong direction.

There was just one tuba in the band? And now none? Wow if true. What do you mean by "gentleman"? Isn't the band all students?

Am I the only one that thought the band was about 200% worse than the worst WSU band of all time? I am not skilled in that forum, but were we missing some pieces? It didn't sound normal. If it was normal, I am losing it.

Let me say I am a HUGE fan of our band. I get to the games JUST to hear them play. I stay late when they jam. I have burned 5 CDs of Shocker band music thanks to a poster who shall remain nameless.
No football = no marching band = not enough musicans = less money for the music department = less musicians at Shocker games = less energy = 200% worse WSU band of all time.

I think even Royal had a marching band relative that didn't enroll at WSU because of a lack of a marching band.

The continued negative ripple effect of not fielding a football team continues to bite WSU in the backside ;-)

Maybe ADES should read this message board rather than hang out at the Bram and steal KSU's ideas..
