  • Looking Forward to This Season (Bilas)

    We're mentioned several times:

    Billas:

"Here is what I am looking forward to seeing as we start the 2010-11 college basketball season:

    ...

Whether Wichita State will be this season's it mid-major team. The Shockers get a chance to show everyone just how good they are in Maui, and they have the players to be a factor there."

"Dana O'Neil: Picking up right where we left off. When we left the game of college basketball, it was wreaking havoc on our brackets. Northern Iowa eliminated Kansas and about 60 percent of the pool-playing households in the United States. Ohio University, Cornell and Saint Mary's took care of the other 39. It was beautiful mayhem. I suspect there will be more this season. and we won't have to wait until March to enjoy it. So I'm looking forward to a topsy-turvy season, with teams like Wichita State, Richmond and yes, Butler, pulling off upsets that aren't really upsets, and players like Kenneth Faried and Kawhi Leonard becoming household names."

Jay Bilas and our panel of analysts and writers expound on what they're most looking forward to this season.

If by "several" you mean "twice", then ok. I guess that makes up for all the recent streak of being unmentioned.

The press is nice, but as soon as the season starts, Bilas will be blabbering on about his 'eye test' crap, and start discounting us as fast as possible.

Pardon me. I didn't realize we were concerned with being grammatically correct on a message board, particularly in light of the way some posters tend to murder the written language by their use of such simple terms as two, to, and too; they're, their and there, etc.

Endeavoring to please you, SPEShockAlum, and in an effort to be completely accurate, I will rephrase my post.

I think this team will stack up well in eye tests. We'll know soon enough.

Thank you for setting me straight. I was confused and searching for more than two references to my beloved alma mater, but kept coming up empty handed. It turns out "CTRL + 'F'" was not lying. I'll be able to sleep tonight.

I agree. I think this team doesn't really have the typical "mid major look". It's more of a BCS-type line.

Can't complain about the press. It's nice getting it again. Still a LOT to prove.
