I think many of us on SN are like our beloved Shockers early season practices. We are reaching for anything to ocupy our mental focus. Sometimes we get chippy at the smallest things. We need some meat with our potatoes. I, like others, can't wait til November 6 & 10 so we can take our frustration out on a real opponent.

I'll bet that Durley is already looking forward to seeing ANYBODY other than Blair, Stutz, Orukpe, or Ellis between him and the basket.
Yikes! 3 weeks of a steady diet that group of defenders can't be loads of fun.The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

But The Valley IS multiple-bid worthy this year. For sure! At least two teams WILL get in. I'll take it back at the end of the season if I'm wrong. Wichita State has to step through Creighton, UNI, Missouri St, and Bradley, all of them quality NCAA tournament type teams, of course, if they expect to win the title. :-x

The Shox still have not done anything in the NCAA's for 20 years other than one magical season. Until we start becoming a consistent winner, get help from other Valley teams and put together consistent runs into the NCAA's the Shockers will continue to be looked at as a bubble team in a mid-major conference.
Honestly, I thought we got screwed a time or two in 2008 or 2009, thinking a second bid was certainly possible.
But you're right. We have to start winning consistently and stop losing to grenades like Drake and Evansville.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

There's no such thing as a "lock" in November, ESPECIALLY if you're not part of the Big 6.Deuces Valley.

Who said it did, ShockerFever? Preseason equates to preseason. WSU is generally considered top 25, the MVC's best team, preseason. That should put them on the preseason "lock", not "bubble" or "nit", list.
Now, if you want to ask me, I'll say Wichita State is a definite lock-tite, solid, NCAA team.

Over the past twenty-five seasons, the Valley has had at least 2 representatives 15 times, including 8 of the past 11 seasons. Clearly, the three seasons without a second rep is the exception, not the rule. And, 6 times in those 25 years have had 3 or more teams in the dance.
