As I recall from when Boyle took the NCol job, Schaus wasn't going to hire a coach with no HC experience. That's a valid reason. Schaus had enough connections and budget that he could get coaches with proven D1 experience.
Boyle did a miracle at NCol. That program was divisional D1 when he got there and the players were left from the D2 days. If he's now taking Colordo from a laughingstock to NCAA bubble in his first year - that's another miracle.
I have a feeling Turgeon is thrilled to see Colorado moving to the PAC-10 or 12.The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

That is a valid reason, and one I would rarely argue against. One could make a fairly decent argument that Tad was a special case however.
Nevertheless, that wasn't the only reason.
