Oh, I've posted it many times.

For someone with 20,000 posts, you'd think you would have read it.

I guess you post but don't read. And that explains a lot.

      20,000? Speaking of not reading.

Wow, I got you waiting for every post now. Looks like you can play catch-up.

I guess if you're knocking me for post counts, then I guess you really have a bone to pick with Sub.

How come this kinda "inside info" wasn't announced sooner?
ABC is right. This subject was posted and discussed a few years ago.

It was posted and discussed here. A phone call from Schaus to Boyle never happened.

Congrats to Tad on a great job at N. Colorado and his success this year.

One has to wonder how long Boyle would have stayed anyway.. He didn't stay long an N. Colorado, and if Colorado is his dream location, would he have been gone already? Not sure he would have gotten us any farther than we are right now, so it may have been a moot point.

                  We will never know.

WSU's history of hiring assistant's hasn't been very good, either way.

Just to clarify, it wasn't that Schaus didn't call Boyle.

Boyle, as an asst. at WSU, ask Schaus if he would suceed MT if/when he left and Schaus said no. So that is why he left for Northern Colorado.

But it is an interesting question - would he have left WSU for Colorado when that position popped up?

It's a game of guesses and maybe's. No telling what Boyle's record would have been here during years one, two, or three. Maybe some of MT's recruits would have played here, maybe not. Doubt that CU would have hired him if his early success here was similar to GM's. This is not a knock on GM as any new coach coming here in at the time would have had a tough time.

Boyle had the advanage of coaching and doing very well at a Colorado school when the vacancy came up at CU. Advantage Mr. Boyle.

And, yes, he would have been crazy not to have taken the BCS job.

Colorado was his home and I never begrudge a coach returning to his roots. With Colorado moving to the Pac 10 we will likely never see him again. He will join Dana in the obscurity of 11:00 PM EST basketball games played in the northwest U.S..

Would he have been successful at WSU? I think there would be a fair chance. We'll never know cause he ain't coming back.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

I think MORE than a fair chance...I'm really impressed with his calming demeanor, and he seems to have good things out of timeouts. That's a cerebral coach. Plus, they were down 20 some yesterday and did not quit!
