How could conference commissioners propose and/or vote on something like this without having had conversations with some coaches? From the article:
We heard about this by chance,'' Minton said. "I was in a casual conversation with a guy, and he brought it up. He brought it up, and it's the first we ever heard about it. We didn't know about it. I wonder how this is good for every conference. I understand the top guys. They'll get who they want to get. I experienced this myself.
That means Doug Elgin had no conversations about this with any of the MVC coaches? I surely hope the MVC is not run in a total vacuum on all matters.
"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Sorry -- I did look to see if this article had been posted before I started this thread and didn't see it in "Men's Basketball" -- didn't think to look in "Recruiting." More comments there.

Doesn't look like any of the coachs like this proposal and seem to be quite pissed off at their respective League Commissioners.

NEW YORK -- The July recruiting period has its issues, but no one at the Atlantic 10 is terribly interested in eliminating it.Assembling in New York City for the conference’s media day Wednesday, league coaches were equal parts stunned and angry at an ESPN.
