  • Stanford to Offer Free Tickets to Students

Apparently Stanford does not include a ticket charge in their tuition costs. I believe someone on SN has indicated in the past that WSU does have this built-in charge. It certainly would have no bearing on our attendance in the student section since the students have already paid the fee and we still can't fill those seats, although I think the attendance has improved somewhat (or at least I haven't heard the complaints we once heard here).

In an ideal world, all college basketball student sections would be free. It's not as much about much the money, though there are plenty of students that struggle to make ends meet and could use the free tickets.

Unfortunately being a smaller metropolitan school with a large portion of "non-traditional" students makes for a fickle fan base.

      Stanford's tuition is also $38,700 a year for undergrad, so . . .
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

I don't think our student fee is connected to "tickets" but is part of the amount students vowed to contribute to the arena renovations. The get 20 years of free tickets as a "thank you".

The Stanford Foundation pays 100% of the tuition/fees for a student from any family whose annual income is less than $100,000.

Stanford has a few more resources at hand than most. Second table on the page is "Endowment per Student".

Does this mean I get free food from the RSC for 20 years for paying for its renovations? :D

Could be. You might check into it.

                      Yes, I know.

The school still takes in $38,700 per year per student.
