What results will satisfy you for the upcoming season?

Win the games we are supposed to win, steal a couple we aren't supposed to win and an elite 8. I want to be sitting in the bar at the team hotel in St. Louis and HCGM comes by and sets the Mo Valley trophy on the table and says "I told you people 3 years ago when we were eliminated that we were going to turn this thing around and here is the proof." The last part is a true story from his first year at WSU...he walked past our table very focused on joining the team for the post game meal when he noticed us and turned around and came back to the table and thanked us all for our support, told us at that time that they were going to turn this thing around. Looks like he is about to make good on his promise.

History tells us a regular season title means little...we must win it all in STL!!!

Actually since the mid-1990's (I don't recall the exact year), every outright MVC regular season champion has made the NCAA Tournament...

Exept for sCUm in '09, you are correct...they actually tied with UNI, but only the Panthers made the dance. Since 1996, 5 times the MVC had only 1 representative in the NCAA's; 7 times the league got 2 teams in (most likely because the league winner didn't win in STL). My initial point has been lost in my own confussion (which shouldn't surprise anyone); so with that being said... :wsu_posters:

You younger guys have the luxury of time and advancing step-by-step and year-by-year throurh Valley and tournament championships and getting to the NCAA.

For an old fart, it is a Sweet 16 at a minimum and the whole ball of wax being the dream.

My expectation is that we make the NCAA tournament and win at least one game.

To do that we have to either win the MVC tourney (most likely) or the Valley title (less likely guarantee to the NCAA tourney).

So to me, keeping the end result in mind should take care of the rest of the expectations. Although I suppose it's possible we could have a losing record, then somehow win the conference tournament, but as we all know that's highly unlikely for a variety of reasons (not the least of which being it's highly unlikely we'd have that poor of a record).

Keep an eye on the big prize and take it one game at a time and good things will happen for the Shox--guaranteed.

Right, and I guess we should be thankful for every victory we have won as well. However, the first two outstanding accomplishments took place a long, long time ago (45 and 29 years ago). And then it took another 25 years for us to make our Sweet 16 run. But, I am most thankful for having the opportunity to enjoy these three accomplishments.

GM certainly has us on the right track for having another chance to achieve additional success in post season play this year and hopefully for many years to come. And whatever we achieve, I will be happy with.

But, no matter what we have accomplished in the distant or near past, or what we achieve in the future, my dream still remains - A National Championship.

Not that it's equal to the other goals (including Maui wins) by a long shot but it's overdue.
