That is so close to why I'm really confident that I've got to comment.

Durley has shown improved consistency and improved defense every year. I don't expect his offensive game to improve a lot, but I expect his overall game will be progressing. All-Valley is his if he is learning what the coaches are teaching.

Stutz had a tough first year and you could see that he was upset and understood he was getting used and embarrassed. Last year he showed he was starting to retaliate for the abuse he took as a Fr. Another year of strength, physical and mental maturity, and Stutz could be a dominating post player. I think he's going to get there this year. I think he's still mad about his Fr year.

Blair would start for any Valley team other than WSU.

Orukpe - I'm not counting on him for anything other than some emergency minutes and some defensive situation substitutions. He'd probably be a starter for half the Valley and a key reserve for the rest of the league.

I'm not going to go into the perimeter players. With what I think Blair, Stutz, and Durley can do down low, that's going to take some pressure off the perimeter players - and they don't need to have pressure taken off of them.

My 16-2 prediction in league play includes losing a game they shouldn't lose.

I think this team would go 2-0 against the SIU team that went 18-0 in league play.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Well , Aargh, strange you mentioned it, because I do expect Durley's offensive game to improve. Under the basket, he reminds me quite a bit of Mark Agguire. Seriously. The quick drop step with long arms to finish-hard to block- is already there. But now he's a senior. 'Just another proven weapon for the Shockers. I FULLY expect him to be a legitimate MVC MVP type, if he can find consistency.

I fully expect us to have three all valley players this year...Durley, Stutz, and Murry. I also expect Hatch and Blair to be second team.

I know I am biased and I know I keep repeating my self but we are so deep! I am really pretty damn excited for the year.

Problem is that quality depth reduces stats.

            +1

But, that is one of those good problems.

And Joe Ragland should be considered as a preseason NOY. We'll see how that plays out, but all indications are that he's got the goods. From what I'm hearing, Ben Smith also will make a real contribution this year, too. Quality depth. :-x :good:

I agree about Kyles, but just like so many others on the team, the minutes will likely not be there to be the stat stuffer required for All-Conference recognition.

If he finally gets it, the minutes WILL be there.

And what it Hatch regains his first year shooting preformace and retain everything else he has brought to the floor since? Then Hawkins left for no reason, all that happened was Hatch grabbed the starting role from him. I don't see him giving many minutes back, if Kyles and Smith want minutes they might do well to look elsewhere.

I see Kyles relieving Murry at the 2, with Smith or Richardson relieving Hatch at the 3.

I have to disagree, Zardoz. That wasn't a nice thing to say. I want Kyles and Smith to stay at Wichita State, now, and next year, too. They are very important to the team IMO.

I interpreted the "elsewhere" comment as in backing up a different starter.

Hatch plays so hard while he is out there that he will need some good breathers. The great bthing about this team is they can afford to piut everything on the floor for every second they play because we are deep and if they don't there is someone else waiting to step in.
