There's some backup on the frontcourt this year. That will take some pressure off. I'm looking for Phil to have a good year.
I think you are right. Phil not only had to set out a year, he was previously with a coach who had a reputation for messing up the confidence of a number of different players. I have found it really interesting that in a numerous interviews and speaking engagements I have heard, Coach Marshall has gone out of his way to express his confidence in Phil. He seems to have immediately grasped that Phil doesn't lack any ability but just needs an infusion of confidence. I think Phil's play so far is not only a reflection of his talent but also a result of Coach Marshall accurately diagnosing what he needed from his coach.

I agree. I also believe that when Phil has struggled, it has been psychological, not physical. Marshall has been very deliberate to be positive about Phil and help him stay upbeat. MT knew the same things about Phil, but Marshall is more of a player's coach, so I think that he is better suited to keep Phil's mental state right.
Looks like TMH and I are on the same wavelength. Posted almost the same thing at the same time.

        FSF,
        Thanks for reminding everyone.
PT will continue to play well. He has the right support network with him now. Sometimes, a change in scenery and the right piece to the puzzle makes all the difference. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

Now let's hope Mantas doesn't become this year's version of last year's PT....

Come on Phil take Mantas under your wing and get him to kick some a$$!

We have to have leadership from this 3 Seniors to be successful this Season. Even when MB and PJ were struggling to put points on the Board, they still played some tough Defense. PT seems to be concentrating better thus far, as seen in his improvement at the charity stripe. RC and MG have both showed the ability to get us some rebounds which improves our total of possessions. Sometimes, it takes Juco players some experience at this level to get their "groove on" offensively. However, I believe these 2 Juco players are keepers and will be looking fine by Mo Valley time.

This was not the Jam---but did you see those PT jams!!!!!!! 16 points and is draining free-throws at a torrid pace. PT is using his quickness and hustle to offset playing against so many taller players. PT came on strong the 2nd half and our 3 Seniors are now rockin-and rollin!!!!!!! 4-2!!!

PT was jammin tonight. His hustle and quickess is paying off in this System. Does anybody in Shocker-Land remember such a improvement in one Season in free-throw % ?

Henry Carr that one year he went to the one handed deal?

That was a unique form that I will never forget from Henry. Was that not Coach Cohen that helped him develop that arm out first technique?

It was Cohen who came up with that technique. It was one of his last good strategies.

I think it was the best game PT has had this year. He played hard all game, was tough on the boards, fought for the ball, and put up some good points, and the free throws were a bonus. He deserves some kudos.
