  • Altman has some headaches

He has only 9 scholarship players and it sure looks like NCAA sactions might occur. No wonder Oregon had such a hard time filling the position.

I assume your were trying to say headaches in the thread title, although headcases is also a possibility.

I guess Dana was just keeping P'unk around as professional development for his move to the BCS level.

Following this past season, when the UO fired Ernie Kent and settled on Altman after an extended search...
          Ouch!

Doesn't sound like the locals at UO think that Altman was one of the "earlier" choices for the coaching job there.

I see a similar situation to Greg McDermott occurring.

In 4 years, he'll be at UNI (assuming UNI still has sports by then).

Concerning NCAA rule violations, the following CBS link appeared on the Shockernet home page. Just in case you missed it, here's the link and an interesting quote:

New NCAA president supports tougher penalties

"Now, with an increasing number of high-profile programs under scrutiny -- Alabama, North Carolina, Michigan, Oklahoma, Florida, South Carolina and Georgia among them -- the penalty phase is getting more attention."

This might be another problem for Dana:

(from the above link on Dunigan)

Only two players on the roster will be taller than 6-6 for Altman’s first season as coach.

His tumultuous times bring me no grief. My predominant feelings are "1ho cares?" Rather he is at UO or CU, the shocks would beat him this season!

Might be a bonus since Dana clearly has no idea how to use a player over 6'6"

                          Down to 8:
Oregon will be down to eight scholarship players if it is determined that guard LeKendric Longmire is ineligible for the season. The Register-Guard reports that this is likely to happen due to Longmire's academics and that the senior currently isn't participating in individual workouts.

Short handed like that he probably won't be able to save his timeouts for late game situational play diagramming.

                            That's too bad......
