    More Bruce

During the barbecue that got him into hot water with the NCAA, Bruce Pearl told recruits and their families at his home that their visit equated to an NCAA violation, according to the termination of employment agreement between Pearl and the university.

This is purportedly the actual "termination" letter sent by Tennessee to Pearl (which, of course, they have not acted on)

Some recruits aren't being very realistic about Pearl's and UT's problems.

Last week's revelations that Tennessee had, already, without letting anyone know, terminated Bruce Pearl's contract, was, well, let's just call it a surprise.

As I understand this it is an SEC suspension, not an NCAA suspension, who have not yet finished their "investigation." There may be more to come this spring.

Wasn't there a movie about this? Something like the "Curse of the Bruce Pearl"?

It is (he can coach against UConn in the middle of that stretch), and there probably will be.

Even Doug Gottlieb acknowledged that the program and the school have taken a hit on the reputation front.

Personally, I'm not sure he survives this - Tennessee doesn't need to live with the "dirty program" stigma, and I assume they have the financial means to extricate themselves.

Coaching is a close-knit fraternity, and there are probably a lot of coaches taking amusement at this after the Deon Thomas affair. If he gets cut, it will be interesting to see where he lands - Steve Lavin paid a price as well.
