I don't know if they're actually playing pickup games any more. Individual workouts with coaches have started.
An information wasteland is expected for the next couple of months. Maybe some verbal commitments before signing period.
Be happy not to be hearing much. About the only thing that would get reported this time of the year would be injuries and guys who left the team. That's what's being reported at other Valley schools.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades. We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
they're all lifting (often twice a day).
they're all taking this time to "hit the books" and socialize throughout campus like a normal student.
from my experiences, (i try not to bother them with too many questions about bball), they seem quietly confident. knowing that they have more pressure now then in past years. The older guys are ready for the expectations.
Overall, not much info floating around my neck of the woods.
sad to say :(
I understand there was a get together dinner for the players on Sunday and a direct quote from an attendee, "They are very large specimens. If nothing else, they will be first place All-Airport Team. "
I'm sure Cold (who assuredly reads SN religiously) probably just wet himself.
The other tidbit was pick up games with this group have been all business. Any screwing around by the younger players and they hear about it.
I guess it especially holds true if they don't get back and play defense.
The surprise was the most vocal has been JT. Apparently, he is the new 'Minister of Discipline' and apparently lit up a couple of RS Frosh for not playing hard.
Now who would have thought it possible 3 years ago. 8)

I will never cease to be amazed at what happens when we get older and realize we never knew squat.
I'm convinced if he isn't POY it's on him. If he wants it he gets it. The man can flat out do whatever he wants inside in the Valley. Hopefully he is taking things as seriously as was posted above and becomes that force.
coachchrisjans another good day in shockerland is coming to a close...had some spirited individuals and seeing the new guys improve quickly is a positive!!
Who else likes the vibe that tweet puts out? :yahoo:
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!
I noticed goshockers has finally started adding some content under the MBB section.
At least there is a roster to look at now! :yahoo:
:goshocks:
Yeah, but I don't think the weights are correct (I think they're last year's) and it lists Ehimen as a junior, when he's actually a sophomore, right?
Good catch on the EO class, that's right.
But most of the weights are different from 2010. On the upper right corner you can flip to last year and see the changes. Also all the pics and bio info is dated, lots of revisions yet to be done.
BTW, Tickets ARE available on mauiinvitational.com for those of you still deciding whether to make the Hawaii trip! :good:
