did wichita state discontinue the cessna classic / shocker shootout? would anyone like to see a tournament like this come back?

I always really enjoyed the tournament during the holidays. However, we always had a tough time getting quality competition. I remember one year, that Gonzaga team wooped us and I was like Gonzaga who?
Considering we have been in an exempt tournament the past few years, it probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless you guarantee 3 games and plan on counting that against the limit.Spoiler Alert: Bruce Willis was dead the whole time! -
Again, for our schedule to improve, it's going to take quite a bit of creativity.
Using exempt tourneys and the package with the MWC, and even Bracketbusters has proven to be useful, but it's going to take even more 'out of the box' ideas to take it to the next level.
Using Intrust Bank Arena, playing 1:1:1 or just a single pay game at a top 10 program, and other ideas like revisiting the Cessna Classic are examples of those ideas.
The Classic could include more than just a single year, but a series over 3 years. The MWC could include more than just one conference (CUSA, WAC, A10, etc.) --That would almost be like Bracketbusters on steroids.Comment
