A lot of shuffling and ruffling going on around here lately..

This is a bit disconcerting. I have to agree with Veritas on the same questions the he presents us over and over. What is ES's goals? Where does he envision WSU athletics to be a year from now? 5 years from now? 10 years from now?

We've seen a few of his shortcomings since he took over. People came on and trampled the "negativity" surrounding ES.

I would like to see the response from these people and have them offer up their defenses again.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

I was already worried when I saw that Eric Sexton was named the AD. Now I'm worried that my worries were legit....

        What was #2 again?

This is all news to me. On the other hand, "associate/assistant ADs" around the country are continually applying for new jobs because it is a tough career where "up or out" is the unofficial motto and this applies to WSU. (I am speaking with personal knowledge when I mention WSU staff.)

Losing a coach, especially to another MVC school, does make me wonder a bit. Other than that, I cannot comment without more information.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

I'd like to see a list of support staff when Schaus resigned to compare with how many of those same folks are still here today. Losing people on the inside doesn't seem like a major hit, but I agree with Doc, if there appears to be an "exodus" it's probably a red flag. It may seem irrelevant to most of us for the "little" people to move on, especially when our head coaches have stayed, until today. I just hope the department is a victim of circumstances here and there isn't something else, bigger, going on behind the scenes, as some have alluded here. I won't worry until others who know more begin to do so, but that appears to have already happened.

I noticed he attended Loyola of Chicago. Is he from the Illinois area?

Article says he and his wife are from Illinois. In addition he's going from being head CC and asst Track to head in CC and head girls track coach (they don't have mens). So it is a promotion and going back home.

Such negative posts. How many of you have changed jobs? There are hundreds of reasons people change jobs. College athletic programs have changes all the time. This admin has none of the issues KU and KSU have had to deal with. It is a great time to be a Shocker!

Two is a coincidence. Let's hope we don't have to see a trend.

That's 4 admins and a coach that have left for greener pastures, this summer (or spring) that I know of, and I am sure there are more.

I am not saying change isn't expected, in fact change is often good. However, you have to look at why.......and there in could be the trouble.

Let me ask you this......say we didn't lose the XC Coach.....say it was baseball or mens basketball.....Do you really think we are positioned and skilled to make the proper change today?

Imho, if you do, you are delusional.

Beggs has always appeared to be pro-sports and has an admirable track record with the athletic department. That's why I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he put an inexperienced person at the helm of the athletic department.

Schaus was impeccable and there is no way to question his actions as AD. AD's tend to want their own people on their staffs. That creates a problem for anyone who follows Schaus because no one is going to question the staff Schaus had in place.

We're going in to Sexton's second year as AD. Turnover is expected, but losing a key fund raiser is critical. Those guys have a lot of startup work with developing and cultivating the money channels. Change isn't easy for them.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

These guys are all moving up. All of them.

I'd be concerned if these were lateral or downward transitions, but they aren't. An oh **** moment doesn't happen at a job and everyone affected magically gets a better job than the one they had.

                                That's simply not accurate.

Coach Burns is going to a terrible program at Bradley. The womens track program (and frankly the XC program) consists of little more than a 3 hour credit exercise class. They don't even show up as a blip on the MVC radar, and that's a lofty goal in itself. It is NOT a move up in any way shape or form.

Brian Pracht certainly is moving up, and I feel confident he has aspirations to become an AD someday and for that he needs football experience. On the surface it makes sense and again I am not saying that we can't have people ever leave.

However, look below the surface and I think you will find more.
